We just bought a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee and when we are driving straight, the steering wheel turns the car to the right very slowly. We had alignment done 2 days ago, so that shouldn't be the problem. Is there any other reason why it would still pull to the right? since the alignment was done it's not as strong but it still pulls to the right. Please help.

The air pressure is fine on all tires, we thought of this already...thanks...

your car is supposed to slightly pull to the right anyway. its a saftey thing. if you fall asleep you wont go into oncoming traffic. so if it still pulls pretty good you have a more severe problem. jeeps are well known to not hold an alignment.i used to own a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. fun but alwayshad to do an alignment. it was like that from day 1. i bought it brand new. good luck! hope this even helps

Well aside from air pressure, it could 2 other things. One is the road crown. Alot of roads are arched or sloped to the right for water run off, very rarely is there a perfectly flat road. You can typically tell if this is your concern if the wheel is turning to he right over a modest distance, not immediately. The other cause could be the tires themselves. If the tire has developed a wear pattern before the alignment the car could continue to exhibit a pull. Also depending how the tires were manufactured, the tires could be cause a pull due to conicity. Try rotating the tires side to side to see if the tires are the concern. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Plenty of things can happen in 2 years that will throw off alignments worn suspension parts, i.e. ball joints, tie rod ends. also hitting curbs, pot holes, and so on. Also unevenly worn tires can make a vehicle pull. Remember too that non-freeway roads have a crown that can make a car pull to the right, some manufactures compensate by making the car pull slightly to the left so that it will go straight down city roads. I recommend a quality repair shop that does alignments, and not a "tire" shop. there are right and wrong ways to perform alignments. good alignment technicians drive the vehicle before and after an alignment, also they check for any worn or loose parts before performing the alignment. plus they check the tires for wear.

I had a 2000 Ford Ranger that had been wrecked, and the frame was still a little tweaked after all the repairs were done. The truck always pulled a little to the left due to the frame damage, but never wore the tires un-evenly. Check to see if your vehicle had any major collisions that could have tweaked the frame, or have a body shop or alignment shop review the vehicle by asking them if there appears to ever have been any accident evidence.

Regardless of any alignment adjustment that a mechanic could make, the only way to fix my problem was to have the frame straightened by a body shop.

just because you had it aligned doesnt mean it was done correctly. it is possible you have what is called a tire pull or push. try swapping the front tires from side to side and see if the pull changes to the left. if so, you still dont know if it is a pull or push but at least yoy norrowed it down to the tires. after that i would rotate to the rear. usually the tire problem isnt dangerous. sometimes they come from the factory that way.
if that doesnt do it, maybe a caliper hanging up alittle. look at the front brakes, are they wearing even?
hope this helps

You might have a jammed right brake caliper. When this happens, it drags on the right wheel, which causes the car to want to turn in that direction. Another possibility (this has happened to me before) is a badly-made tyre. I had just gotten new tyres put on my wife's car, and the steering pulled badly to the left. We checked the alignment, and it was fine. So, we switched the front tyres, and then it pulled to the right. So we went back to the tyre place, and had the tyres replaced - I believe they sent the tyres back to the manufacturer, since they were defective. So, try swapping your front tyres around. It's worth a try, and you can do it yourself (no charge!) If it's not the tyres themselves, then it's probably a frozen/seized right front brake caliper (in theory, it could be the rear brake, but in reality, it is unlikely that it would have enough drag to cause the car to actually turn.)

When you have a front end alignment done and it pulls to the right it sounds like tow in tow out and not necessarily cast and camber.
TAKE IT BACK

Some places fail to acknowledge worn boots and ball joints which means no matter howq well you align iit...it will pull until all these are replaced.

One of the possibilities not mentioned here is dragging brakes. Support one wheel at a time, and see they all are free. Needless to say, the vehicle would drift to side of increased friction.

check the air pressure in the front right tire. it is probably low.

(assuming that the front end alignment was done correctly)
