After driving on the highway for about 20 min.in cold weather the accelerator sticks and I have to put it in nuetral and then the engine revs up. My mechanic drove it around town and it didn't happen to him so he didn't know what to do. He also said it's very difficult to reach the throttle in my car. I think I need to take him on a drive on the highway for a longer time. Any ideas what I should do? I have a feeling this is going to cost me big time.

I've seen this problem on a Saturn. The acclerator cable gets water in it and either freezes or rusts. The ultimate solution is to replace the accelerator cable.

look to be sure cable has good rubber cover over it no moisture leaking inside. Try taking WD 40 (one brand) and spraying all moving parts of linkages try to displace any moisture you have in thiose tight metal connection points. It sounds like you have some moisture inside the throttle cable to me,

if its a bug, then its probably sticking under the hood.try to reach it and spray some pb blaster on the cable.if you can spray it,blaster will release it.
