We bought my car used and have driven it about 30,000 miles since--I have no clue what the previous owner did. Sometimes my car shakes when I first start it and I also don't know much about cars to know what all needs to be checked in your car to make sure it is working properly--what service can you get done that checks and make sure everything in your car is running smoothly? How much for each thing?

the engine temp is on point. it randomly cracks the ceramic on the spark plugs on 3rd & 4th cylinders. occasionally making the car run only on 3 cylinders rather than 4. it is my undrstanding that either pressure or heat would do this. I'm going to get a pressure test to try and eliminate or determine this factor. if that is the problem -please correct me if I'm wrong, I believe the repair would be costly as to remove the heads and fix the problem within the cylinder. which would be a pretty labor intensive as well.
Another possibility if pressure is eliminated I believe I could try and replace the coils on those 2 plugs which is still a little pricey but not in the ball park of a pressure relative situation
Please advise

I started my car today. And while I was still in park, the RPM's were staying consistently at 2. Which was high for my car to idle at. When I shifted into drive, my car just took off by itself. As if someone had their foot pressed down on the gas. But my feet weren't on any peddles. It was weird. My car just kept going consistently as if the cruise control was on. I checked to see if my gas peddle was sticking, and it wasn't. I drive an automatic. What could be causing this?

it was perfectly fine yesterday and this morning. but now its dead. i was told if ur car doesnt start, its one of two problems: battery or starter. i tried to jump it but it didnt help. i just bought and replaced the starter cause it seemed like it wasnt firing and now its still not working. any ideas?

i havent driven it for 4 weeks and it might get some water into it since there was heavy rain a couple of weeks ago. It started to have smoke when i drove it today and when i turned the car off even more smoke came out. The surface of the hood(the paint) even burned it a little and the hood was popped open a bit. i dont know why. there's a repair shop a mile away, can i still drive it there or do i have to call a tow truck?

PS:it's an old car, 95 toyota corolla, only 58,000 miles though

and it has got all over my new car... the paint is fading and my windows are kinda foggy and when it rains you can't even see out of them. Can someone give me some advice as to get this off my car besides getting a new one.

i am planning to go with air intake for my 01 maxima. just need to know is theres any cons? and whats the pros...does it gain power or loss the power at all? i heard it changes the sound of your cars engine it gives the growl type of sound which is great but does it gain any HP at all? please advice. thanks.

Must you take it in to have it reset or can you just disconect the battery, or hold down the odometer button for a certain amount of time. I've noticed that by turning on and off the ignition to ACC or by pressing the odomoter button and holding it in like 5 or 6 times a bunch of crazy numbers come up like 111111 or 77777

and I drove it, now it wont start, but while running it, heavy white smoke came from the tail pipe, any ideas what may have caused this?

i have a pug 106. it is 3 stud ( dats the holes for the lug nuts! there are only 3) was wondering if its a big job to change them to 4 or even 5 stud? is it possible to buy some sort of spacers? thanks for answering.

when you put in in drive it just sits there and does nothing.when you put it in revirse it whines. there hasn't been any signs of the tranny slipping and the tranny fluid is full can someone help???

I own a 1996 Civic with 179,000 miles on it. the heater recently stopped producing heat. not completely, sometimes it will produce lukewarm air, but thats about it. i dont have any coolant on the floorboards, nor do i smell any. i recently had the coolant flushed and the heater worked after that. the heater has never worked all that well in the past but now i cant even defrost my car. any suggestions before i go to a shop and throw hundreds of dollars at them?

So, if a car has no coolent, or anti-freeze in the car, so the hoses in the car became frozen, is there anyway for me to unthaw the hoses. ( We unhooked the radiator because we thought that it had a hole in it, because there was ice.) The coolent, (anti-freeze) leaked out somehow. Can i start the car without contecting the hoses, and let it drain, or will that hurt the car. Will i have to conect the hoses back up to the radiator and can i do it that way? Or should i let the car sit in a warm garage and wait for it to unthaw?

please help.
