The water in my ragitor is frozen leading to my car trying to overheat. I'm gonna have to drive about 5 miles or so to the nearest store to get anti-freeze and de-icer for my windshield. I know my car will over-heat on the way there, and i know that i risk ruining my car for good, BUT!! Is it safe to put the anti-freze in my car in the parking lot? or will i have to drain everything out? What can it do?

Both lubricants are the same grade 10W-30 but I need to add more oil since its low(on Castrol) and I can't find that brand at any of the local stores. I have pennzoil from when i did the last oil change of the same grade.

My steering wheel is locked and the key wont turn over. How do I unlock it? I have a toyota corolla. Could it be cuz its 8 degrees outside and I havent started the car all day? I put wd 40 in it, but that didnt seem to help any. Im going back out there in a few to try it again.

My truck will turn over, and fire just fine but it will not continue to run. It just kinda chugs for a few seconds and stalls. There were no symptoms leading up to this problem, but I think I may smell unburned fuel after trying to start it a few times.

It's literally 2 degrees outside, might be colder with wind chill. My car has not been driven all weekend. I try to start it and it won't turn over. I pump the gas and it sounds like it will start but it just can't turn completely over. What should I expect?? Is something damaged or is it simply because its just freezing out. I tried to jump start it but that did not work.

I asked a few days ago about the cost to replace the feul pump on 2002 Pontiac, and one answer mentioned a recall, do you know if there was a recall for this problem? By the way my total cost for the fuel pump and labor was $887.00. I think far to much, but when your a female you tend to get ripped off by mechanics. I would like to know more about a recall on the fuel pump please

Can't keep the heat going in my van.When temp gauge warms up I cut heat on and gauge goes back to cold and I get cold air, have no leaks anywhere don't know where to to start at thermostat or where, any help would be appreciated!

Pertaining to the question before this one... I have gone BACK to the Meineke place and asked what they will do. They gave me a FREE oil change and stated they cleaned my engine and all the oil that splattered, there was still some left behind. They also gave me a free oil change card. WOWEEE... (disgusted). Anyways... they say my car should be fine, I find my car is really running rough as hell, it's sputtering like it wants to die out, (almost seems like i'm running a standard and it's an automatic). So yeah... I do want to talk to a lawyer... cuz I did call the MAIN office and all they want to do is send me back to the place I had it done, even after I said I'd prefer another place (even if it was another Meineke place just not the one in town). And they wouldn't do anything further.

I made a left turn onto a side street and my car slid on ice very hard into the curb on the passenger side. After this happened my car alignment seemed to be off. There was an unusual steering feel--stiffer than it used to, and the wheel did not return to the center position when released. The steering wheel is now ****** to one side when the front wheels are pointing straight ahead. I took it to an auto body to be looked at, and was wondering how bad it might be. Do you think it might be an easy alignment, or could it be more severe. If more severe, what are other things that could possibly happen after hitting a curb like that?

i have just bought a citreon zx advanatage it's got the 1.9 diesel engine in it i am having problems starting it and when it does start it smokes a lot there's a lack of power which does get a bit better as the car warms up any help please

1992 Ford Tempo 2.3l.

I have very little heat inside the car, usually just enough to clear the windows, but the car will overheat in summer and sometimes winter (even at -35C). I've had the thermostat changed 4 times, the rad changed once, fan changed once, and both the head & head gasket changed once. The system was flushed three times by two different mechanics and neither reported any blockages. The only thing left that I can think of is the water pump or the heater core. What would be my best bet or is there something else I should be looking at?

I am looking to buy a 2001 Nissan Stanza. When I took it to the only mechnic I know. He stated the Stanza has a Interference motor. He explained that the timing belt shold be changed every 60,000 miles. If it is not changed and the timing belt goes out the motor runs the risk of locking up. The Stanza has 100,000 miles on it. The mechanic says he can change the belt for $300. A aquantice of mine, claims to know a little about cars. He told me there is no such thing as a interference motor. My dillema is, I do not know either of them enough to take there word for it.

Hi, I have a 1997 Renault Clio with a leaking sunroof. (dont they all!) The imoboliser senser above the mirror doesn't work as a result so I cant start the car without drying senser out every time and waiting a while. I have replaced the senser once already and it stopped working after the first rainy weekend. Is there any way to bypass or disconnect the imoboliser permanently?

here goes, I have a 94 buick skylark. My brother in law parked it 3 years ago running fine, but it hasn't run since. Drained the gas, cleaned out tank replaced fuel pump. new plugs, new coils, new timing sensor, new spark knock sensor. new fuel injectors. motor gets fuel, has spark, won't start. thinking maybe valves stuck? put finger over spark plug holes felt compression. seems ok. what is going on with this car???

Can you apply body filler to wood, like will it stick on their ??
i was just wondering because in my class we mix the bondo wit a clean stick, n when u put the harnder on their , it does stick ot the wood. i was thinking of building a subwoofer box, n applying bondo for i can paint it in my H.S shop
***********************************************************************MY OTHER QUESITON IS : how do u apply and mix fiber glass, im an ameautur at mixing body filler, is it about the same way ? second, how much fiberglass will i need to cover 4 pieces of 3ft by 4ft and 2 pieces of 2.5 ft by 3ft ? they sell them in 48 oz 96 oz n 1.5 g, n the price difference is alot, so i dont want to buy too much . When finish applying fiberglass, do u shot it wit primer like u do body filler? n then the paint......... ?
