My truck will turn over, and fire just fine but it will not continue to run. It just kinda chugs for a few seconds and stalls. There were no symptoms leading up to this problem, but I think I may smell unburned fuel after trying to start it a few times.

First because you keep on starting it when it stalls, that's why you smell fuel. More then likely you have a sensor not working, could be a crankshaft position sensor. You are going to have to take it to a repair shop & have them run a computer check.

You don't say what year this truck is or make or model. If this is a older truck with a carburetor then it could be a carburetor needs rebuild, plugged fuel line/filter, choke stuck open or a bad fuel pump. Since it's not hot out then you could rule out vapor lock. If it is a newer vehicle then it could be anything from a fuel pump, one of a few computers that control the timing or injectors and even a air mass control unit. Good Luck.

Could be lots of things, I would start with the most simple. How long has it been since you did any kind of maintenance? Replace the fuel filter, air filter, check your plugs and wires, check the cap and rotor.

fuel filter or pump. They may be clogged, but not so bad that they are preventing the fuel from seeping thru enough to allow it to start but not run. make sense?
