when you put in in drive it just sits there and does nothing.when you put it in revirse it whines. there hasn't been any signs of the tranny slipping and the tranny fluid is full can someone help???

This is a big problem (nothing to do with gas). You will have to take it to a tranny shop where the first thing they will do is scan it.

Most cars today have a bunch of electronics in the tranny. Try checking ALL of the fuses in the car,you probably have more than one fuse box.Try turning off the check engine light by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery for a few minutes.If none of these work,then get it scanned.Remember to never uncap the gas tank with the motor running,this will make the check engine light come on.Also check the trans. linkage

Why do the simple things need to be scanned. Obvious trans problem or low on fluid
