I have found that there are 2 automatics listed under this yr. The E40D and the 4R100. Both say there 4 speed auto with O/D. I need to know if either one is a 5 speed. I counting 4 shifts. A total of 5 speeds. I know the AOD is a 4 speed auto overdrive. And its a real 4 speed. Is it possible the previsious owner put in a newer 5 speed? Or is either of the stock transmissions a 5 speed? I would ask the previsous owner but thats not a possitibility anymore. I just want to find out before I send it to the tranny shop to have the shift kit removed.

There is some grime on my car, and someone told me it was best to sand it off since a wet cloth wouldn't work.

The thing is that I don't want to ruin the paint job since the car is only 3 years old and I don't know too much on this kind of stuff.

Hey there everyone. I got my Malibu today but there is an issue. When the dealer replaced the battery the gauge read full and the needle jumped and went all the way around to under the empty peg. Is there an easy way to fix this without ripping my dash apart to get to it? Any ideas? And how can I keep this from happening again because there is no full peg.

Thanks.

So far things that I replaced;
plugs, wires, 6 new injectors.
Stuff tested;
ignition module- OK
no vacuum leak on outside of intake-ok
test light for #6 injector-OK
EGR -OK
crank, cam,TPS,map sensor- OK
When engine is cold it has no missfire. #6 is the only one missing.
Also has no missfire when driving 65-70mph.
Only misses under load or when stopped at stop sign.

I have a 2000 Grand Voyager that blows cold air when I turn on the heater. It takes about 30 minutes for the heat to even start to come on. I was told that this may not even be a thermostat problem but not sure what else to check. All fluids are at appropriate levels.

Hi. What is the best universal tool for stealing alloys from cars. I tried several that I bought on ebay and they mostly did not work. Does anyone know a tool that works? Or is melting the rims off with a spray gun the best option?

...add to my existing entry): I took my car into the repair shop because it was leaking brownish colored fluid from a hose...located under the front area towards the right (passenger) side. I am not disputing that they diagnosed it correctly...I am sure they did. I just wanted to ask if $250 sounds like a "fair" price, to make sure I am not getting ripped off (have been ripped off by mechanics several times before, although I know that probably the majority of them are trustwothy & skilled).

Also, is it advisable to get the hoses replaced (now that I think about it, isn't that what they do anyway to fix it...but they asked me if I wanted the hoses replaced too)? Do I need to get the radiator flushed? For all that, the charge would be $450-500, but they said to at least get the water pump fixed ($250).

I am a single parent, working & in college part-time & don't have much money to spend at the present time, so any mechanical advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just bought some 450 cc injectors, and I also have 560 cc injectors. But in case of emergency or if an injector fails, can I use the 560 cc injectors? also therefore using different size injectors in my car at the same time? I think it should be fine, but I've never heard of anyone doing it.

I need to replace my fuel filter and have a choice of either Wix, Microguard, or AC Delco. The AC Delco is the most expensive, while the Microguard is the cheapest. Which would be the best choice if I change my fuel filter every 12k miles? Also, why would OEM AC Delco be more expensive than Wix?
