Is it cranking over, if not then it's your starter most likely. If it cranks then yes maybe it is your timing belt. Timing belts usually have to be done at 50,000 to 60,000 miles, not 90,000, this is under light duty but you have to go by severe duty in your manual.

OK.. the buzzing noise you hear is the fuel pump that is on a two second delay before it turns off if the engine has not started. I'm a Chevy lover and hate to say...the fuel pumps tend to burn up if you drive around with less than a quarter of a tank of gas......they just do.... All the lights, guages, bells and whistles only draw about 40 amps if they are all on at the same time. The starter on the other hand draws over 400 amps when you try to start the car. Double check the battery cables, and battery posts for scale.(crusty stuff that doesn't conduct electricity.) Make sure the ground strap to the engine is tight, and the starter cables are tight too.(carefully)-ZAP!! If all that checks out......you may have a bad fuel pump.

Could be a lot of different things. The timing belt is a possibility. Could be the starter also. Could be the fuel pump, fuel filter, or blocked fuel lines. You need to have a mechanic check it out.

Does the engine turn over? If not, the battery might not have enough power to run the starter. If you still have your original battery, you probably just need a new one. 79,000 miles is a pretty good run for a car battery.

Does the engine crank over? If not, sounds like the starter is faulty. How often do you maintain the vehicle?

Maybe try connecting a charger to the battery, it seems to work like that for motorbikes.. the battery just might need a good charge..
