i have recently bought a vectra on a r plate and the car is fine but when i start it in the morning something makes a whirring noise for about 1 minute then stops. does anyone know what this noise is, regards Russell

Knocking noise when accelerator is released. Told by garage that it is coming from gerabox and they can add some additive but will need new gearbox soon. Does this sound right?

there is antifreeze coming from somewhere near resivouir tank and hoses including on serpintine belt and running down radiator on the left side Car almost got hot but caught it in time car is taken to dealership carwash/oilchg business for oil change but they never look at anything else for an elderly widow woman who has noone to rely on for home auto repairs i an her daugher in law
trying to make educated decisions about the car before she gets screwed again!!!!!

my dog urinated on a blanket. my girlfriend didnt know. for some reason she put it in my truck. i was away and didnt use my truck for a week. for that week that blanket with dog pee was marinading in my car. now my car (that is brand new) wreeks. i need help badly. febreze did nothing and I was hoping not to have to have the inside detailed and everythign shampooed.

Since I can't find an aftermarket headers for my car; which is beneficial, just go with the stock catalytic converter with the after market exhuast system (Ark N2 Dual Exhaust) or an aftermarket cat (Magnaflow) with the aftermarket exhaust (Ark N2 Dual Exhaust System)???

By the way, I have a 2003 2.0L Inline-4 Hyundai Tiburon.

What would you do???

Hi, I recently crack my headers in a small accident and now need new ones. Now im shopping online for some but not sure if they are legal in the state i live which is California. Some terms Im not sure about and i hope you guys can help me out.

1.What does it mean when it says carb excempt? Is it legal in CA?

2. When its says "legal in 50 states" does that mean it's carb approved (comes with eo number)?

I would also like suggestion of what type of headers I should get to pass smog in california. This would be most appreciated. (I pefer a not so expensive one since I am a starving college student >_< ).

I have 169,000 miles on my Mitsu Galant and the engine light just came on for the first time. The next day the rpms started runnin from 1500 to 2500 when I had it in N or P. My mechanic said the "Idle Control Valve" is what I need and it may run anywhere from $250 to $300 ducats. So what's the worse that may happen if I just keep on driving without replacing this part? Those of you with a vehicle more than 5 years old or if you had to deal with the same thing - please respond.

I was in a car accident a few weeks ago & just got my car back from the auto body. I noticed that my battery is missing one out of the two battery caps. None of the auto shops sell that piece individually. They say I would need to purchase a whole new battery. Does anyone know where I can get one??

My truck is leaking antifreeze, but I never see the antifreeze leaking under the truck. Also it wont go from the reservoir to the radiator..why? Sometimes it overheats, but not always. I go through a gallon of antifreeze every few days. What could be wrong? Now the heater doesnt work all the time, seems to stop after 30 min of driving. No white smoke from muffler? Oil seems fine..not milky.

I have a 1992 chevrolet silverado.I am painting it the color of the 2004 dodge neons! It is like a candy blue but i am not sure if it would look good! I need some opinions on this one. Also, my truck will be more of a sport-like-truck and i need some advice on things i should do with it to improve the look. It has a black strip that go's across the whole truck, shhhould i leave that on or take it off, much advice is needed on improving the looks of my truck and i need opinions on that color! Like i said, that color blue was on the 2004 dodge neons.

I have a 1991 Mercury Topaz that has been setting for about 5 months because of a cracked radiator. We put a new radiator in and now it won't start. The battery that was in it was brand new but now is so dead that we cannot charge it, we had to replace it with another. The car is now turning over and sounds as if it wants to start, but no luck. It has a litte under a quarter tank of gas. It also got pretty darn hot before we parked it. I would greatly appreciate any opinions on this matter. Thanks!

My 1991 Nissan Maxima SE is screeching when I start it up. This morning it was about 75 degrees in the outdoor parking garage.

It wouldn't even start the first few tries, and my car never needs more than one turn of the key. All I got was that god awful ear piercing screech.

What is wrong with my car, and how do I go about fixing it?
