Go to autobody shop & tell them its missing. I had to go back & get my under hood light from a body shop after my truck was fixed. They did get paid so your a valued customer, or should be. I'd call your insurance agent or whoever was involved with paying the auto body shop.
Its better to actually go there too, calling them doesn't really give them any incentive to help you. They probably wouldn't want customers there to know.

RE:
Where can I get a battery cap for my car battery?
I was in a car accident a few weeks ago & just got my car back from the auto body. I noticed that my battery is missing one out of the two battery caps. None of the auto shops sell that piece individually. They say I would need to purchase a whole new battery. Does anyone know where I can get one??

Extra batteries and/or caps will make your problem WORSE. Caps do not do what they are advertised to. They actually don't make any difference UNLESS you have upgraded your alt. Caps and/or batteries will pull MORE power from your factory alt., causing it to overload and go out. I've seen it happen. Do the Big3 Upgrade (power -charge- wire from alternator straight to batt., ground wire from batt. straight to frame, and ground from frame (same place preferably) to engine block) all in 4g or bigger wire. This will provide the instantaneous power to your batt. from alt. This will stop headlight dimming and voltage drops -which KILL electronics. If this alone doesn't do the trick (I promise it'll help DRAMATICALLY) then an alt. upgrade is next on the list. Remember, power cannot be used if it's not created (by alt.) and efficiently reach battery (where it is then used). Good Luck!

Drive back to the shop that lost it, tell them what you discovered and for them to please replace the caps. Be firm. They're probably stuck in a cycle of replacing each ones caps from the next battery coming in, ever since they lost the first guy's caps. Wouldn't hurt to take a coupla' big guys with you if you can! If they're uncooperative, tell the BBB (Better Business Bureau), they record complaints which potential customers can review.

Any auto wrecker. It would cost a couple of bucks at most. But call the body shop first, just to see if it happened there, and they have it sitting there wondering whose it is.

go to the auto store that take batteries in return for a new one, and see if they will give you the caps, if not try car junk/scrap yard in your neighborhood..

You can try sites like ebay or craigslist. These are the sites where I go to get car parts that are not found in stores.
