What kind of brackets should I use. Thanks for the help.

That depends.

What type of howitzer? 105mm M-101? These are very common and easy to come by.

If so, what kind of truck is it going on? The smallest practical would seem to be a 2,000 kg 4x4 cross-country truck like the DAFYA 4440. On this you should be able to mount the complete howitzer assembly complete with gun shield and around 40 projectiles and charges.

Of course the M-101 isn't automated. You'll need to adapt some motors for gun laying and elevation, plus a mechanism to control them from the drivers seat. You'll also need to devise an automatic loader of some sort at the breach - probably accomodating something like 12 rounds before needing to be manually topped off.
