I have a 2000 Grand Voyager that blows cold air when I turn on the heater. It takes about 30 minutes for the heat to even start to come on. I was told that this may not even be a thermostat problem but not sure what else to check. All fluids are at appropriate levels.

i own a repair shop, and if you,ll look at the heat hand,,and see if its rising up as it needs to be,,it may not be a thermostat problem with it,,but you have to check this first,,then go on to the next thing which would be the inside control unit ,try moving it around some and see if it changes any at all, if it does the unit is faulty,,and will have to be replaced on it,,this is about all it can be other than a bad temperature control valve,,and its located on the inlet hose of the heater hose,,out side, near the heater box,,that's about it,,you,ll just have to check all of this, and narrow it down some,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

if the water level is low or if air in system could cause that// let it sit all night long// when you get up in am go out take radiator cap off if low fill radiator all the way full then add 1/2 gallon of anti freeze straight to overflow tankif you // you could have a plugged heater valve a vacuum operated valve that allows flow of water or a plugged heater core or a plugged hose leading to or out or the heater core// goodluck

You need to let your car warm up before you try to use the heater. It will just blow cold air until you do. Turn off your fan blowing the cold air until it warms up.

Check the coolant level. The heater matrix is usually one of the highest parts of the cooling system and as such it is the first part to run dry.

Sounds like you're either low on coolant or your heater core is plugged.
