After I replace the drive shafts (right & left), the front-left wheel is locked up, causing an exessively hot wheel and vibration. I then replace (one by one) tie rod, break fluid hose, caliper, rotor and break pads. Nothing seems to release the brake. I then remove the fuse to turn off ABS, it still locks up. The brake fluid on the right side (no problem) drop out of the hose every second, while it is every 6 seconds on the left wheel. If the speed sensor is bad, then why only one wheel locks and why turning off ABS does not solve it. I could not think of any other solution. The wheel is in very bad condition, since the lock-up has damaged the brake bad very quickly (the old one is total gone). I would greatly appreciate your expertise's help.

I hear it said that all cars are built really well these days and are very reliable. However, I also hear that cars built in years past are much longer lasting than modern cars...What do you think?

Hi All, I have a 1993 Vauxhall Cavalier GLS 2.0i.
The electrics have gone on the blink. I came out one morning and ALL the elecrics were dead.
I re-charged the battery, but when I put it back on the ignition light would come on without me putting the key in.
When I do turn the key, the other lights come on, but the battery light goes out.
It starts and runs, but I'm afraid to drive it anywhere incase I get stranded.
When I'm not using it, I have to take one of the battery terminals off to stop the battery discharge.

Any ideas what this is please??

Pete.

PO111 Intake Air Temp Out of Range
PO101 Airflow Valves Out of Range
PO107 Map/Baro Circuit Valve Low

I think all 3 mean my mass air sensor is on the fritz but I've also been told it's possible my IAC might be going bad also. This is for my '01 Mitsu Galant V6 (auto).

Right now the only symptoms I've experienced is a low idle.

If the car has good tracking/alignment ect.

I've just had fitted a set of Goodyear NCT5 195/65 R15 V.

I'm guessing around 20,000 miles before the front tyres will be approaching minimum tread + a little more for the rears ?

It also is harder to push down with my foot than before. It vibrates like it is resisting when I push down the clutch to change gears. The noise it is making is like a winding type noise. Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

I was driving my 94 Plymouth Acclaim, then after taking off from a stoplight, it kind of chugged for a couple of seconds. It was low on gas, so I put 1 (yes, 1) gallon in. Then 8 hours later, it almost starts, but doesn't quite catch. As soon as it almost turns over, the engine kind of 'putts.'

It was about 25 degrees F, so is it possible it is gas line freeze? I put in HEET and waited for about 1/2 hour, and that didn't do anything. I tried jumpstarting it, and that did nothing.
What are some other possibilities of problems?

Recently, I had a belt break and was stranded for several hours in a remote area. A young lady happened along and I asked if she could give me a ride into town to get one. She said No, got out of her truck jerked off her panty hose and handed them to me and said these will work, til you get to town for a new one, jumped back in her vehicle and drove off.
Ya know, i was in total shock. But, i tied those on the pully's and they worked. Got me the 45 miles to the nearest town. Anyone ever have this situation.
