Maintenance & Repairs - January 2007

First problem, when I go over any bumps it just feels like the wheel is not stable, almost like the steering wheel shifts a little when I go over the bumps (even small bumps). Also, when I go over speed bumps it makes a creaking noise. Second, the transmission sometimes has a whirring noise. Third, when I speed up & then let go of the gas it kind of feels like the car pulls a little. Someone help me... I can't afford to get a new car just yet...

Please help.....

I bought new brakes for my car and everything else it needed to replace the old ones. I asked my uncle to put them on for me cuz he used to own a shop. Well now every time my car is running at any speeds more than 60 mph when I press the breaks my car's stirring wheal shakes like crazy. It's scaring me.

Do you think it's because of something my uncle did or is it that my car has another serious problem? would you know what it could be?

My driveway is really steep and its quite icy at the moment i was just coming up it and wasnt going fast enough to get up it so i put it in reverse so i could build up some speed on the way back up. It being icy i started to slide so i pressed on the brakes really hard and poped it into neutral to prevent going into the road and causing an accident. The brakes are fairly new and usually only go somewhat down, this time they kinda poped and went almost all the way down to the floor and my brake light went on. what just happend and are my brakes ok....they seemed to be working ok the rest of the way up and parking. Why are they all the way down now and why is the light on???? I have anti lock breaks its a 96 grand jeep cherokee

1997 tacoma 2.7L. The bolt and pin that holds the chain sprocket on to the camshaft has broken twice. Is there any history on this. Seems to be a stretch bolt and hardened pin.

I own a 2001 Mitsu Galant V6 w/ approx 78K. This is the original synopsis of my problem.

The other day I noticed a "loping" sound as I accelerated my car through the gears. It's only when the car is under load I can hear the "loping" but not when the car is in park or when I'm at a stop (idle).

Btw, when the car is in neutral/park the motor revs fine w/out any loping.

Also when the car is in gear and I'm at a complete stop I can hear a very low level but loud harmonic resonance throughout the car (almost like very deep bass). If I put the gear into neutral/park (i.e., no load on the motor) the harmonic resonance goes away.

I have since taken the car to a transmission mechanic and he was able to pull these codes:

PO111 Intake Air Temp Out of Range
PO101 Airflow Valves Out of Range
PO107 Map/Baro Circuit Valve Low

If ANYONE can please translate what all these codes mean together I will be very thankful!

Ok, here is the deal. I started having problems with my Ranger when my father and I did a tune-up on the truck. The engine has 8 plugs so I took the exhaust side, and my father took the intake side. My father thought that he would not be able to access the plug closest to the firewall so he started breaking the intake bolts free to take it off. Well after 1 or 2 bolts being broken free he found an extension that would allow him to access the plug afterall. So he just tightened the bolts, and we finished up. After we were done the truck started roughly and began to shake and studder if I was in a higher gear with low RPM's and pressed the gas. So if I am cruzing in fifth @ 2500 and pressed the gas it would shake and studder. The shaking and studdering gets worse when it is hot out. Now I have such trouble starting that I have had to replace the starter. Is this a simple vacum leak or what? PLEASE HELP DODGEMAN OR ANYONE ELSE THAT CAN HELP

I have changed the EGR valve and coolant temperature sensor. The Check engine light flickers. I put it on a scanner and recieved no codes. After changing EGR and CTS, I have been able to hear the injectors "clicking". Could it be possible that the injectors are getting weak?

my son's old's aurora 1996 has al rims, the rims are pitted and will not hold air. I want to buy steel rims but none seem to fit, the bolt pattern is fine but the rim hits the stterring arm or the calipers.
does anyone know of a rim, from which make and model , will fit.?

It has new spark plugs, and passed the Noid detector. What could be the problem? There is nothing like this online for Saturn, have you seen this before anything else(it has a Honda engine).
