Recently, I had a belt break and was stranded for several hours in a remote area. A young lady happened along and I asked if she could give me a ride into town to get one. She said No, got out of her truck jerked off her panty hose and handed them to me and said these will work, til you get to town for a new one, jumped back in her vehicle and drove off.
Ya know, i was in total shock. But, i tied those on the pully's and they worked. Got me the 45 miles to the nearest town. Anyone ever have this situation.

Yup, it's old school. Works OK on V-belt systems sometimes but not on serpentine belt systems.

Yes! it's amazing ..... that happened to me too but I don't know whats about that pully business. When my belt broke and I got the donated panty hose I tied the top to my back belt loop and placed the legs over my shoulder and tied to two loops in front and drove all the way back to Tennessee.

Yes, but I've never tried it in a serpentine belt setup. They work on the V belts just fine though.

Also hear that plastic tie downs will work in a pinch. Amazing what the mind can come up with.
