ok peep this, when im on a hill and going down hill and all of a sudden the stop light change from yellow to red, i step on my brake lightly and hold the pedal down untill it finnaly stops, am i pressing too lighty or am i supposed to press it harder and release and continue to do that process of press and release untill i stop? my car is new, only 22,222 miles also am i suppose to hear my brakes slowing down with the radio off and the car coming to a stop? i mean i can hear the brakepad when it makes contact with the rotor, its not a squeal just somthing like when it rain and your brakes are wet and you try and slow down. this my first car so i have no other car to compare brakes with. any answers?

as i was tryin to drive away my car started shaking pretty bad so i had to get it towed...when my car got dropped off i saw that the tire was turned slightly into the car...my dad looked at it and he said it was the axle but i looked at it and theres a little rod stickin out of the tire connecting to some other thing in the center of the car where theres another rod coming out connecting to the other tire. now i would agree that its the axle but whats kinda wierd to me is that this rod thats broken is very very small...its less than half an inch in diameter so im guessin that the axle would maybe be a little bigger. anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Would it be wise, or necessary, to change the filter every 3k miles to make sure I am getting the full benefits of their oil? I want to make the full 15k miles before I change the oil completely.

Thanks in advance

This only happens after driving for about 15 minutes. The oil level is fine and there does not appear to be any leakage anywhere - that I can see anywhere (under the car, under the hood, etc.)

I just bought a 98 plymoth voyager van and it is leaking freon. The prevoius owner said that they would just refill freon once a month at the begining but it got to were it leaked to fast. Does anyone know how I can tell were it is leaking from. I'm afraid if I take it to a machanic they will say they need to replace the whole system even if they don't have to. Please any advice would be appreciated?

If I change the oil filter in my Jeep Cherokee, will oil spill out all over the place? I don't mind a little bit, I know that will happen. I changed my oil a couple of weeks ago and I didn't have the filter then, but now I do. Just wanted to make sure ahead of time.

My 89 Bonney is shifting unreliably. It takes a few blocks before it will shift normally. Once it shifts the first time, it's ok unless I shut the car off for like 12 hours.
Recently though it started banging while it was shifting up, down and reverse. But only when it feels like it. It shifts fine . . . I'll go into a store, come out and start it up and it starts banging. The last time it did this, I got the idea that maybe some universal force is at work here, and it didn't like the way I started the car. So I turned the car back off, turned it back on . . . . and appeased the automatic transmission gods somehow, it shifted fine again. So I figured I need to get up to speed (sorry) on automatic transmission workings 101. I've bought a new modulator for the paltry cost of $17.99. It's a 5 minute fix, but I kinda want to know what it does.

I have a Fiat Cinquecento S.
My brake pedal is not spongey any more I can push it down and nothing happens until it goes as far as it can and it pulls the car to the left.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Solution?
Average cost for the parts?

I want to get all the swirls out of the paint ie scratches from car wash brushe's etc.
The last time I had the car detailed the paint had a wet hi gloss finish to it and didn't have a swirl or a scratch in it.

I bought this car earlier this year. It has been fine but every now and then it cuts out and\or loses power. The previous owner addmitted that he had a similar problem before and got the Air Mass meter (Air flow meter) replace and this cleared the fault. This was only about 15 months ago. Could it be gone again? OR any other suggestions welcome.
