Upto a few days ago, if an anwerer contacted me through my avatar, I used to get "message from XXX" in my inbox. I could tell immediately who the message was from.
Now it's "you've received a message from another yahoo user". If I receive 4 messages from four different people I cannot tell at a glance which message is from whom. This is especially inconvenient when I wish to reply to a certain message at a later time. I just have to open them one by one till I get the message I'm looking for.

I therefore repeat my above question, with a corollary:
Can't we revert to the older system? Or would someone care to explain what prompted the change?

Some plank crashed in to my VW polo and his insurance says its going to cost more to fix than its worth, anyway im going to buy the car and get it fixed myself as mate runs a repair centre and he do it at parts cost... ive only had car 2 months so i was gutted... but IF i do decide to let them pay me out and i just buy a new car can i take my sony stereo out and alloys i bought myself ... ill replace the tiers with normal hub cap tiers.. or do i have to leave my alloys i bought on it?

I have a rover 75 on a 52 plate .just done the cylinder head ,preasure tested and skimmed head .engine starts and drives but very sluggish when excellerating know its NOT coil pack or leads, spark pulgs, timing ,valves,fuel,just not right HELP

I have a Vauxhall Astra Diesel 1.7 on a '04 plate.

Driving in to work this morning - I noticed that my 'brake warning' light on the dash every once or a while would come on for about a couple of minutes then go off again.

The brakes feel fine - I believe the light also has something to do with the clutch system.
Any suggestions as to the likely problem?

I have a '93 Ford F150, 302, 5 speed. When I let off of the gas I can hear a "clicking" sound, from what sounds like the rear of the truck. And when I accelerate I can hear a real quite whinning sound. Could this be my u-joints going bad?

I have two problems and I'm not sure if they are related and if I should try to fix them or just buy a new car. I guess I have an oil leak. I smelled some burning from the engine so I went to a gas station and found there was no oil in my engine (according to dipstick) I added two quarts with plans for an oil change the next day. The next morning my car was completely dead. No lights, not even the automatic door locks would work. I got it jumpstarted, but during driving, when I was stopped at a light, it would idle slower and then die. I parked it and within 4 hours the battery was completely dead again. I have never had to jumpstart this car before. Is it my alternator? Could my oil problem be related to this? Is my engine ruined because it was running on so little oil? Thanks for any advice!

Car detailers seem to know how to clean everything else but....
It must be something about the fabric, and the fact that our hands (grimey!) are on them all the time.

im painting my 96 corsica i paid 650 for it and was missing half of the paint on the body i worked on it all summer stripping and priming it, then i found out how expensive acryillic paint is, my mechanic told me to use enamel instead as a cheap alternative. he has been doing body work for 20 years but i am still leary to commit to the idea... can you give me a hand in making my decision?

I have no flow in or out of the radiator.... I have already done the following....
replaced thermostat
replaced water pump
radiator rod out
block check for combustion gases
still...... nothing!
Anybody know about these cars....please send advice!

My friends car while driving makes a grinding sound, it almost sound like it's comming from under the hood or maybe the front driver side wheel. When it does this it almost feels like it holds the car back and won't let acclerate. I know it's not the spark plugs because you can rev it up while it's in park and it dose'nt miss. Could it be the wheel barron or what do you think?????

The noise is coming from sorta in the middle of the driver's & passenger seats. It rattles for the most part while in drive for a moment & stops when the truck is placed in park or neutral. It seems as if its causing me to lose power or acceleration.

This was maladjusted when new timing belt was installed and now I get oil in the plastic tub leading from the air filter to the throttle body.I changed the PCV valve but I an still getting oil in this tube. Does anyone know how this oil is getting back up in this tube and what could be causing it.The engine runs good but has a small hesitation or surging when driving. The spark plugs are burning clean with no oil on them and no blue smoke coming out of the exhost.

The dash low tire pressure light is on. I inflated all tires as factory specification and the light still is on. Last week a smart gentleman showed me how to turn the dash maintenance light off, if he sees this request, can he answer this one too? The manual states if light still on take it to the dealer, but I know there are smart people who know how to do it. Thanks.
