we are not successful in removing the lower pully as we are attempting to replace a broken timing belt. A cheater bar has been used and all that happens is that the 3/8s breaker bar twists.
We are trying to turn the nut counterclockwise. Suggestions?

If I need to add a little oil to the engine, and it was filled with 10W40 synthetic, and I only have 5W30 synthetic right now - will that work? Is it safe? I need to put in an extra quart or a bit less.

My front brakes on a 1991 Mitsubishi Galant need changing. Can I change them myself? Is it very difficult? Are any special tools needed.

I can do most anything if I am given good directions (this forum helped me successfully change my fuel pump).

My vehicle was hit from the back and suferred extensive damage to the rear (dents, smashed tail light). The cost to fix the vehicle far exceeds the book value of the vehicle (I have to still verify this...which website should I use to appraies the book value?). Assuming this case, would it be better for me to not have the vehicle fixed, and instead have my lien paid off and get the remainder of the $$$? Then I was thinking of getting th ebare minimum fixes needed to make it look a bit better cosmetically. It drives just as it did before the accident. What would you recommend I do? What if it turns out that it is not technically totalled?

I have aquired a old 87 toyota Tercel but it's been sitting for over a year under two years, the battery is dead but i am purchasing a new one. It has Oil though i intend to give it a change, Filter as well, but i don't think it has anti-freeze in it and i am worried about starting it up after sitting to long without anti-freeze, also it has old gas in it and my neighbor advised me to syphon off the gas and replace it before starting it up. its a project car i know its really old, but it'll be perfect for an extra car for me and my husband sense we juggle one car between us now. any advice out there getting this ball rolling?

I have an ASV / Cat skid steer loader. This machine is a track machine. The tracks run off of the same hydraulice motor as everything else. the tracks work fine, the lift works fine, but the bucket tilt will not operate. Two weeks ago I had the cylinders for the tilt, rebuilt. It was working fine. now, it will not move. it just dangles and flops around. I checked for leaks, there aren't any. I pulled the hoses loose from the tilt and there is a lot of pressure. Should both lines on one cylinder be blowing fluid at the same time? I thought that one would suck while one pushes and when you move the joystick, vice versa. I might be wrong. well, that is why I am asking. Can anybody help me?

Pretty sure the flasher is bad, but I can't find it. Found the hazard flasher on the fuse box, but the turn signal one is eluding me. I know its under the dash somewhere. Can anyone help? Do I have to take off the lower dash panel?

Hi,

I just bought a second hand Daewoo Matiz 2000. When the engine is off I noticed the gear could still be shifted without stepping on any clutch. Is that normal? How else could I test the car to make sure it's all working fine?

I've just bought a 6 year old peogeut 206 1.9 diesel from a trader, it's just had a full service and MOT but i'm unfamiliar with the car. After a hundred miles or so the rev counter has stopped working... i don't know if this is linked to my other problem that when i press the accelerator (at any speed) there is a loud mechanical noise coming from the engine that doesn't sound quite right, possibly a "roaring" noise. I've not had a diesel before, so do not know whether this is something to expect. I do have 6 month warranty with the car but firstly i would like to know if it is safe to drive (as 200 miles away from home) and also need a car a lot in the next few weeks so don't want to take it back to the dealer unless necessary. Any ideas will be gratefully received. Thanks.

CHILTON SAY'S 40-60 AT 2000 RPMS BUT WHAT ABOUT AT AN IDLE?? NO LIFTER TAP AT ANYTIME. OIL PRESSURE COMES UP WHEN YOU GIVE IT GAS. NO METAL IN PAN . I DROPED IT. IT WAS CLEAN.I SAY ITS FINE MY BOSS WANTS ME TO PULL THE VALVE COVER AFTER HE TOLD ME TO PULL THE PAN . I SAY ITS FINE. ITS A WASTE OF TIME TO PULL VALVE COVER.I THINK 45 PSI AT 2000 RPMS IS GOOD 5-7 AT AN IDLE IS GOOD WHAT DO YOU THINK????

I have a 1996 Saturn SL1, oil or something is leaking into the coolant, which is leading to the engine running hot....I know SOMETHING needs to be fixed, and most people have told me it is a cracked head gasket. Is this a repair that seems worth it? My car has 102,024 miles on it......anyone have an estimate on the cost? I am pretty lame when it comes to cars.....Thanks....

I have a 2005 Dodge and a few nights ago I put it into park and suddenly the idle began to climb as if I had my foot on the gas. I shut it off immediately and started the car again...and it repeated the same response with the RPM's climbing . Can someone explain to me what may be the problem?
