Depends on what is wrong with it. Is it the cable or the converter that the cable goes into in the newer cars. If it's just the cable it's real easy. Just take it out and replace. The converter if is has one is a bit harder to get to but it is just a replace it thing also.

Depends -- Most modern speedos are electronic and really need to be serviced at a dealers. If it's older, replace the cable if it needs it. Other wise there isn't a lot you can do.

find the place where the cable goes in to the trany then pull the gear out to see if not broken if not then cable
