I don't know what year trucklett you have, but if it is 1996 or newer, you MAY need to have it put out with a scanner or code reader. Some of them will allow you to turn it off by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. If you choose to do this, be sure that the security feature of your stereo is disabled, or that you have the codes handy.
If it is 1995 or older, simply disconnect the battery.
Be sure that you have performed necessary repairs, or the light will come right back on when the computer sensed the same fault again.
