2003 Dodge Neon. Want to add oil. The oil filler cap turns to the left and clicks, and won't come off. How do we get it off to change the oil?

Try pushing it down and turning at the same time - like a medicine bottle cap.

I am assuming you are turning the cap to the left (the off direction) and it is just clicking. The cap has a ratchet system so that supposedly it can't be over-tightened. These are made from plastic and they wear out quickly. The other thing taht diesn't help is the 0 ring on the oil cap will dry out and stick to the valve cover. What we do at work with these is pop the top of the cap completly off(pry the cap straight up) the cap should come off leaving the bottom half still in the valve cover. We then use a large pair of pliers to get a hold of the bottom part of the capand turn it in the off direction till it unscrews out of the valve cover. The cap will snap back together and we advise the customers to get a new oil cap as soon as possible. If you can get the cap out without taking it apart put a little Valeline or oil on the 0 ring and this should help it keep from sticking in the future.
Good Luck!

You better take it to a mechanic before something is messed up. I'm not saying this to be mean, I'm saying this because I know you don't know what you're doing. I have seen many cars come into my shop with people trying to DIY and fail. Its not worth the hassel of the repair bill. Also, since I know this advice isn't being taken, ChanLlock's work good for the extra leverage on a stuck cap, or just taking a rag, somtimes a little padding can give you a little more torque,

Bubba's solid. Plus, in case you have slightly WD40 with the "straw", try bending the straw slightly, and spray between the cap and the valve conceal. Use a rag to catch the surplus. Then artwork that a million/2 inch open/close/open/close, and then try establishing it with the rag. each and every so often the mixture could make each and every thing greater straightforward.
