if your car has been wrote off - get your insurance money and sell your car to a scrappy minus the well and stereo - you may get £25 which is not so bad

If your car is written off, but still repairable, ie not destroyed, and you can get it done on the cheap, then why not.

However, the car can become the property of the insurance if they pay you out the value.

I was in a similar position some years ago, the insurance company of the other driver said the car was worth 600 before the accident and after writing it off it was worth 90, they offered me 510 and I got to keep the car, which I did, so it is possible. I make sure with my classic car insurance I have "buy back" or "salvage" option in the event of a write off situation occurring

I think you would probably get away with lifting the stereo, they aren't likely to worry about that. The alloys are a different matter, make sure you told the insurer you had fitted after market alloys before the assesor comes out. They might default if you haven't told them. If you haven't get the old wheels on quick.

the vehicle is still yours & the other persons insurance should pay you out for it less of course the salvage/scrap value plus any costs you have incurred, ie. recovery & storage costs, dont let them fob you off, as you have only had the vehicle for 2 months you need to recoup as much as you can form the other persons insurance company, they will try to fob you of with a paultry amount, but stick out for what you paid for the vehicle, les of course the salvage value (which you can find out from any good salvage yard) if you are in the AA or RAC as them for advice as well

It depends if you are claiming money for those items. If you have not insured the wheels and stereo then they will not give you any money for them so yes, id take them straight off!
