I have a 92 GMC Sierra, and my reverse light comes on when i'm shifting from parked to reverse, but as soon as it drops into reverse the reverse lights go out. Any idea why or how to fix it?

On top of the steering column, but down near your feet is the park/neutral safety switch. Its typically white and silver, and curved to match the shape of the column. Loosen the 2 tiny screws (1 on each side) and with the truck in park, slide the switch all the way to the right. Tighten 1 screw and cycle through the gears to see if your lights work correctly. Or else, apply the parking brake, put the truck in reverse (engine off) and slide the switch until the reverse lights come on.

Your selector is out of adjustment. There is some play allowed in the gear selector, and mechanic should be able to fix it up for you pretty quickly.
