Definitely a broken heater core. This shouldn't be a big job to replace.

Probably a split in your heater radiator, behind the dash somewhere will be a small radiator that takes hot water from the engine. I had an old Peugeot do this once, wasn't a major job to sort, don't put off sorting it though you're losing coolant from your engine - not a good idea.

Your heator matrix has a hole in it , as a tempery measure put rad weld in and follow instructions
