Ford's 4.6 is an excellent power plant. It is the new generation equivalent of the 5.0. It will do pretty much everything asked of it. It is used in some form in everything from the grocery getter, to the pick-ups, to the Mustangs to the police cars.
Just don't abuse it and expect it to get you to the moon.
Happy Motoring

A friend of mine has a Crown Victoria with that motor in it. He justs rolled it over 303000km a few days ago, it still runs like new.
I work in a garage and i see quite a few of them come in with over 300 000km and they all seem to run like there would if there were 50 000km on them, they are a very powerful and very durable enging. If I were ever to buy a car (i'm a truck man) it would definatly be a Crown Vic with the 4.6L. And on a truck i would definatly buy a 4.6L. And I will only buy Ford as they tend to have lasted the longest in my family and for me in the past.

Its a good motor all around. It good on gas & provides enough power. Its a "smaller" motor compared to the 5.4L V8.
