Right now I have a 95 accord, it runs good now, but I am all about preventative maintence, and I want to make sure my car is still running good in 1-2 years.

What should I do besides the basics? (Oil Change, Tire Rotation, ect). ???

the problem lies with themselves? I mean I've owned imports, domestics, trucks, vans, station wagons, luxury, economy, oddball cars (AMC Pacer for example) and motorcycles also. I will admit I'm a more of a 'car care' person than the average but I find so often that the people bashing a vehicle or brand did little or no PM (if you don't know what PM is you didn't do it). And in closing how many folks ACTUALLY check their tire pressure monthly as recommended? That and regular oil changes alone would end a lot of the car p*ssing and moaning. OK, thanks car type folks!!!!!

When I drive my car on the highway at around 80mph it acts as if the alignment is off, but here is where it gets interesting, sometimes it veers to the left sometimes to the right and even sometimes not at all. What do you think the problem is? Also, when it veers it acts as if it were the wind pushing my car around but its not.

When it is in gear I can take my foot off of the clutch and it is not even cutting off. It starts up fine, but it just won't go.

I have a Renault Megane from 2001. For the fourth time, the ignition coils have failed. The previous 3 times were covered under warranty so I was not charged for replacements. This time I phoned Arnold Clark Renault and was told I'd have to pay £70 for a diagnostics test.

I am sure that the problem is the engine coils so don't think I need
the diagnostics test. Is this compulsory? Also, roughly how much would I be expected to pay to replace the coil? I am also due to have a service and MOT done within the next couple of weeks as well.

Do I have a leg to stand on if I say that there is obviously a fault
with their coils and I shouldn't have to pay for them to be fixed
AGAIN? They have never admitted to me there is a known problem with their coils.

Also, is it necessary to go to an authorized renault service centre to get the repairs done or can it be done at any local garage that might be cheaper?

I just went out to start my car to get it warmed up so I can go out with my infant son but it wont start! It's been doing this for a couple of weeks now, we know that it needs new sparkplugs and wires, if we replace these will it start like it is supposed to? This is probably a stupid question, but what can I say, I don't know much about cars! It's a 1996 Sunfire.

I've had it repaired, i would like to know if i paid too much! I parked on some crusty snow, and it managed to rupture a rear brake line. The mechanic told me, he would patch the line, but it was close to a couple of brake proportioners, that would also have to be replaced. These proportioners were on the line, not near the master cylinder. I was also told that in order to bleed the brake system, i would have to replace the rear brake valves. I did look at the brake lines, they were very rusty, the bleeder screws on the valves were also rusty. I'm not necessarily questioning the parts that he replaced, but i would like to know if i got a fair price, i will post what i paid, when i pick the "best answer". 1995 oldsmobile 88.

- replace rear brake line & 2 rear brake proportioners
- replace rear wheel cylinders- and brake fluid,

how much, including labour, is this job worth? thanx for your answers.

My Trailblazer doesn't seem to like the synthetic but I don't want to ruin anything or cause any damage if I switch back to normal oil.
