When I drive my car on the highway at around 80mph it acts as if the alignment is off, but here is where it gets interesting, sometimes it veers to the left sometimes to the right and even sometimes not at all. What do you think the problem is? Also, when it veers it acts as if it were the wind pushing my car around but its not.

If you have a lot of weight in your trunk or hatch it will take weight off of the front end and make the vehicle dance up front, especally if you have a rear spoiler to help. That being if there are no mechanical problems up front such as too much toe in or toe out on the alignment or bad ball joints or steering linkage/components.

Check your brakes as well. You could have a pad that's not seated properly or has a broken retaining clip and occasionally the pad makes contact with the rotor which slows down one side of the car causing it to steer in one direction or another.

But your best bet, have a professional take a look at it. A problem like this can range from a brake problem to tire pressure, existing alignment, steering rack/gear failure, bad shocks or broken or lose steering components.

Check you air pressure and tires for wear. Have the front end checked for bad tie rod ends and alignment. It may just be the road you are driving on. If there is a lot of heavy truck traffic on the road. The weight of the trucks cause uneven road surfaces because they wear tire grooves in the road, especially with black top roads. You may just be wandering in these grooves.

It sounds like the alignment is off or the shocks and or struts are worn out, have you had them checked? Best to let an alignment technician check it for you and be careful driving that fast.

I have never encountered new tires giving off any sort of smell once they are put on the car. Are they the same size as the previous tires you had on the car? I ask this because if they are wider than before, perhaps you are rubbing on the inside of the wheel well while driving around. I would inspect inside the fenders to see if you notice any marks indicating the tires rubbing, as well as both edges on the tire to see if you are getting any premature wear.

Check your air pressure in your tires. Sometimes having more in front/back will cause a car to road walk.

sounds like a loose steering/suspension component. take it to a reputable shop and have them do a complete inspection on the front end and tires

It could be the road or the tires, it could be a combo of both you might need the tires road force balanced.
