what are some ways i can get my 4x4 to disengage so my tires will not grab when i turn left or right/?

i have a 2004 ford explorer

Is it not disengaging at all? My 03 F150 has to go in reverse for a few feet to disengage it's 4WD.

I had this problem before. Try Disconnecting the battery and leave it disconnected for about five- ten mins. That worked for me. I guess the censors get stuck at times. Becareful though not to hurt yourself.

Are you sure you have the correct oil in the differentials?

Wrong oil in the differentials can cause some weird chit to occur.
