The nissan is a better bet because it is rear wheel drive. I would do a SR20DET motor swap on it due to the fact the engine that comes with it is really just a recycled truck motor and not the best for tuning. The accord is a good car but not really a "street racer" in my opinion. The 240sx is a great choice if you want to take the time and do it up right.

I own a 2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V and i was recently having the same problem you are describing, i had to take my car into a dealership and they re-programed the ECU because their was a problem with the Crank Angle Sensor. if that's not the problem then its most likely the Mas Air Flow Sensor. also check for any leaks in the intake system. this usually is not a big problem to fix, and should not result in any further damage to your car if not fixed.

Alternator has nothing to do with it. The idle is probably set a little too low. Turn it up a notch.

I had a car that did the same thing. Found that the thottle was set to low and took it to a mechanic and he adjusted it and it was fine. Also you may want to check your carberater.....it could be dirty and not getting enough ozygen through it.

this happened to a firend, the problem might be that the gearbox stays in a high gear when you slow down
try going to 2nd or L as you slow down, but don't do it if you're going fast of course
