I have an '03 Automatic Suzuki Aerio. I love this car and try my best to take care of it. I was having trouble with the engine making a rattling noise when accelerating uphill, but all the dealership found was an oil leak. Recently, however, I've noticed that when getting onto a highway and the car is going from 3rd to 4th, it will stay in fourth gear for up to a minute or longer than it should be. The engine will be loud, so I know it still has to get into that 5th gear but it just won't get into it for minutes after. I've tried accellerating even up to 68 (I hate being a speed demon) with no help. I hate having to be patient with it and I know that something could only be getting worse. In the past 6 months the anti-freeze/coolant has run down completely and ive had to fill it myself, but I doubt thats the real problem. The shifter has an Overdrive on/off and its always set to on.. Maybe its glitching? I'd appreciate any help.

I have a 2001 Cadilliac Deville and here is what happens, it sounds funny when it idles, When you first start it when it's cold and after it runs for 30 secounds, the rpms slow down to normal idle speed and then it sounds like the rpm's are raising and droping like 200 rpms over and over again but I am not sure why it's doing this. I am a sevice tech but don't know what to do here.

Honda dealer in NJ charging $500 for timing belt, water pump and the other 3 driver belts. They higly recommend I change this now. When I start my car, my car makes this squeaking type noise from the bottom or definately the drivers side. However once is driving and at normal temperature the squaking noise stops completely. But when put on Park, the noise is still there but 80% less than when the car just got started cold in the morning. The Honda people also say, perhaps the belts need to be adjusted costing $70 dollars. So what you guys think? What should I do?

I have a honda CRV, that will NOT start when it has sat outside & the weather is cold. Sometimes when it is not too cold out (in the 40's) after some work the car will turn over but does this chug, chug, chug thing for up to a minute and then in a split second it's like the gas gets where it's supposed to and it revs and drives away as usual. When it's left outside below 30 degrees it will not start. When it is left in the garage it will start right up. The only thing tht has been done is the fuel filter has been changed. I'm at my second repair shop, now at the dealer. They can not find out what is wrong. They have said that the catalytic converter, MAP sensor?? and valves definitely need to be replaced, but even after relacing them they said it still might not work. Are catalytic converters that are going out temperature dependent? This non-starting in cold weather and ability to start right up in the garage has been repeated over and over by myself and repair shops.

My car has been leaking bits of tranny fluid but nothing major. The car is a 1994 sedan deville 4 door.I went up a big hill last night then on the way home;My check engine light came on.I pulled over to get gas and that's when I noticed small smoke coming from down by my transmission.I got up to go to work this morning and my car backed up just fine but then would not go into drive.i turned the car off then tried again and the car pulled off slow and the engine had alot of peep to it but would not go past 35 and the car began to jake as if it attempted to take of fast but would not.I put fluid in it asap then went to work and the car kept jumping out of gear.I drove 20 miles and the smoke appeared again from under my car.I can now smell a burning smell coming from the tranny fluid. My car did not give any warning prior to this. Why? Now the car will only move by me turning the car on and off.I have only had this car for two months and I brought it at a used car lot as is.

I bought an old, crappy car, and I checked the oil, and well, while it's in need of a serious oil change, the oil looks dark, but thin, and kinda greyish. Possibly water in the oil? Also, my check engine light has been coming on once the car gets warm, but no overheating or anything. A friend said to do an engine flush and a tune up, will this solve my problem?

Hello. I have a 2003 Infiniti i35. 26,000 miles. When i bought the car in July of 2006 a Full tank of Gas used to give me about 300 miles. However, today, for example, the needle was almost on empty but i only got 228 miles for a FULL tank of gas which ends up being about 16 mpg in the city (i used to get around 24 in the city the first month or so). What is wrong? The car is in MINT condition and i cant find anything wrong with it. There is no warranty on the car so everything i do has to come from my pocket. I've read reviews on people with the same car and the same year who are getting around 24-26 MPG.

Please help. I need serious answers.

My 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SE 3.8L with 150,000 miles started bucking & jumping the other day.I put it in the shop and the mechanic put on a new fuel filter but that wasn't the problem, now the mechanic tells me that he pulled the #3 sparkplug and it had water on it so that mean's it's the head gasket or the head cracked and it's going to cost me anywhere from $300.00 to $500.00.
My question is how does a head get cracked overnight from sitting in my driveway??? Because he can't tell me!!
She drives this car everyday and we've never had a problem with it & I always keep up maintence up on the car,the car has never been run hot or overheated. The car ran excellent up til this!!
I've asked the mechanic everything I can think of but seems like he's giving me bulls#*t answers and as far as I know he hasn't hooked it up to any machines that diagnose problems.
I'll probably end up taking it to a certified Pontiac mechanic but it's just worrying the crap out of me right now.
