Now listen carefully because I've gotten alot of different answers elsewhere and now I am confused! I have a 2005 Trailblazer. The tire went flat so now there is a FULL SIZED spare tire on it...

I don't have the owners manual or I would refer to it. Please...if you know for SURE if I can or can't drive it on the highway OVER 50mph THEN answer. I have to drive it today on the highway and don't want to have it blow on me. I would get it fixed today but they are not open.

Maybe someone here knows a website where I can find an owners manual that I can read online without paying for it?

the car wasn't steaming after it stalled. it appears that not all the coolant was lost as it still was leaking later when we had it towed. the towing company said that toyotas are susceptible to cracked heads when the engine temperature rises. finally, the car has had 100% synthetic oil for the past 4-years- I'm hoping that helps in this situation. just don't want to get ripped off by the franchise mechanic that is doing the repairs

Recently my temperature gauge on my car started to fluctuate. It would rise, so I would pull over and shut off my car for a min. or two and the guage would return to normal. There tends to be no other signs that my engine is overheating. It tends to rise when I am driving at a slow rate of speed (usually 35 & below). I brought it to the mechanic & they changed my thermostat which helped for a few weeks. Then it started doing it again. The mechanic isn't sure what it is, because he said the guage doesn't change for him. It doesn't always rise when I am driving slow, but I did notice that if I have my heat on, when my guage starts to rise, it starts to blow out cold air, instead of hot. This makes me think it is more than just a bad sensor issue. Any help/suggestions I can get is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

I accidentally closed the last question. How much should I offer for the 1952 Ford Crestline Victoria? NADA puts a low retail 52 at $6,425, but that is in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. Which is not this car. Thank you for your help!

P.S. if you have anything to add to "What do you do first to fix a car that has been sitting for 9 years?", feel free to add it here...

P.P.S. see that question for more details.

My speedometer will sometimes stick at one speed for a second, then jump 5 or 10 mph. I dont think it has a speedo-"cable" i think its electric...not sure. 1989 Thunderbird. Also, if this part is going bad, will it mess with the shift patterns of the transmission?

Hi, I'm in the process of buying an old toyota corolla and have been told it's going to need its timer belt replaced...
Being clueless mechanically I'm just wondering how much this is going to cost me, and how soon I'll need to do it.
Anybody able to help me out here?

98 jeep wrangler with a 2.5 ltr 5 speed.
I drove on the interstate this morning and didn't really notice a severe change to the response in power. however this evening on my way to a club, i couldn't get over 60 mph. with the exception of the lower gears 3000rpms is dificult to acheive. (typcal idles around 900rpms) in 4th and 5th gear around 2500 rpms is about as high as it will go. in addition to this while driving in 3rd gear and trying to go higher then 3000rpms the engine begins to sputter, but doesn't die.
when in nuetral or with the clutch depressed the engine will respond well to changes in the gas pedal. But with resistence to the engine the above results apply.
having only a 2.5 ltr its never been a power house. but i only really had a problem doing 70-80 with heavy winds or the top off (different aerodynamics.)
So i'm asking for hints for what to look for, or ideas to resolve the problem. thanks for reading and any help you may offer.

It has the 'D' to move forward. Do the driver need to engage '1', '2' and '3' during the course of motion (as in manual transmission-if not what are they for) Does the gears' position have any impart in fuel consumption?
