yes - I am told that diesel engines will run on old fryer grease. with just minor tweaking.

the only side effect is that they smell like french fries going down the road.

I'll take that over three bucks a gallon any day

vegetable oil doesn't handle heat well enough.. u r thinking of a diesel. gasoline engines are completely different. I am a truckdriver, and the best u can do for a diesel right now is a blend of vegtable oil and diesel. but the technology is growing. if u want a good career in research this on is wide open. and there is a company in missouri that can set up a diesel to run on pur veggie oil, but it takes alot of addons.the oil isn't thin enough so it has to be heated, to run thru the fuel system. there is a truck called veggie mack, in mo. that does run on pure veg. oil. go to landlinenow.com and ask them for the article they had on the veggie mack. when it ran it smelled like french fries.

Veggy oil is too thin to use in a deisel..... cant use it in a regular gas engine. You can use kerosene in a deisel though.
