i have a 2003 impala and it has a oil leak somewhere and i have to add a quart of oil every 4 days ...i also noticed that there is alot of gunk in the radiator and in the overflow resevoir but the car doesn't get hot at all....any suggestions on what might be the cause of these problems???

Not familiar with GM products. But I have heard that GM's 3.1/3.4 V6 engines are famous for intake gasket leaks. This would definitely be consistent with the symptoms you describe. Hope this helps.

Lower intake gasket leaks are chronic on this engine. The gunk in your coolant could be oil that has made its way into the cooling system, contaminating the anti-freeze. But it could also just be gunked up Dex-Cool, which has a tendency to turn to sludge if not properly maintained. Also, while I've seen some bad lower intake gasket leaks on 3.4's, I've never seen one so bad you lose a quart of oil every few days.
If the gunk in the radiator is oil and not just junky Dex, the only other alternative is a blown head gasket.
Assuming the gunk in the radiator is just sludgy Dex with no oil in it then the next most likely place for an oil leak on this engine is the Oil Pressure Switch. This is located just above the starter.
No matter what, get that coolant flushed out, preferably with the GM TSB flush procedure to get rid of all that garbage.

Is there oil on the ground? If not, not a leak.
An intake leak won't cause oil use. Nice guess tho.
Do you have blueish white smoke out the tailpipe?
Crap in the radiator signifies bad head gasket.

more likely then not you got a head gasket getting bad , might be in your favor to have it checked out soon before it blows out and does some serious damage, oil and gunk in radiator is not a good sign good luck

first thing check your oil filter most times a rock flies up and pokes a hole in it the hole may even to small to see, change it. It not that costly and it can't hurt.

i have been inspired with those i have ridden in. they are unique searching, even although i'm not loopy about the "bel aire" tail lighting fixtures fixtures, yet that's only a small factor. robotically they are good, and they are comfy and funky searching.
