I buy it from a guy and he told me that one of the fuel injectors wasn't working but it still ran. It would die most of the time I would stop (red lite, stop sign, etc.) I got the spark plugs, wires, distribitor cap, rotor, and fuel filter replaced but it still won't start. I know that its just something minor b/c it cranks it just doesn't go all the way and start.

A few weeks ago I cracked my oil pan which resulted in major engine damage. I initially called my insurance company about the cracked oil pan and they said it would be covered under 'collision.' They then told me it wouldn't be worth paying the $500 deductible when the cost to fix it would be $300. After getting the oil pan replaced, it was discovered that there was also major engine damage resulting in the car needing a new engine. I still owe $9000 on the car and have full coverage. I can't sell it without a working engine. So, I'm wondering if my insurance will cover the cost for a new engine ($3000 or so) or not. Any help would be greatful. Thank you.

Took my car to a local shop today b/c I thought I heard a funny noise.

Mechanic said my exhaust bearings were bad... He said I needed 2 new ones and they were 150 each plus labor. Estimate of $500 for everything.

Anyone know where I can get them cheaper? Or are they always this much?

Thanks

I just bought a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee today and I noticed tonight that there is a red flashing light in the dashboard on the drivers side. It went off when I unlocked the door and then went back on after I locked it. When I turned the car on and locked the doors, it went off. But as soon as I shut the car off and then locked the doors again, it went back on. The dealership I bought it at said it had standard security system (which I assume is just regular door locks since I didn't receive a remote or anything). Are they wrong? Is this a security system and if it is, how do I get a remote for it and in the mean time if the alarm goes off how on earth would I shut it off???

So yesterday a little yellow light on my 2001 Altima came on that read "Service Engine Soon." My car is slightly over 100,000 miles. I was wondering if this light is to signify that something is wrong or that it is time for the recommended maintenance? If it is time for maintenance, what services do you recommend (ie transimission flush, etc)?

I just bought a brand new car last Monday. Today in a parking lot, someone parked next to me and let their door hit my passenger side door. It left paint from their car on my door. The scratches aren't deep--it looks like paint from their door just rubbed off onto mine, but it still looks bad. My car is red, their's was dark green so it's very obvious. What can I use to buff out these paint marks without further damaging the finish on my car door?

By the way, if you ever do this to someone's car, be decent and leave a note offering to fix it, or at least apologizing. It feels awful to buy a brand new car and then less than a week later have some rude, clumsy jerk mark it up and just drive away. Gotta love that holiday spirit.

Just recently, I had to replace the tension pulley because it was bad and my serpentine belt came off. During that time, I lost steering, but by pulling VERY HARD was able to turn the steering wheel enough to drive five blocks home. Could this be damage I caused by turning the wheel while the serpentine belt was off? What else could be making my steering wheel vibrate at low speeds? I don't notice it as much at higher speeds, yet then the wheels feel wobbly, even though they don't LOOK wobbly from the outside (I've had someone watch as I drive by them). When I replaced the tension pulley, I also had an alignment done. HELP, PLEASE!

My car has died on me a total of 5 times, towed twice and has been to a mechanic 3 times, all in one month. Please help!
After it had been towed the car started up fine again. The machanic couldn't find anything wrong with it. He preformed all the regular tests, the battery, alternator, everything check out okay. I got the same response from others. I had the alternator replaced just today after taking it in to Autozone. Initally I took it in and the tech put it in a machine to test and it passed. He then suggested to put it back into the car and bring the car in to be tested by a computer. It wasn't at optimal reformance, so that is when I bought a new alternator. Though he said it was still good but not good enougn. It died again tonight after replacing the alternator. The thing is- it'll start up again after it sits for awhile. I've noticed that it happens while my lights are on in the evening and early mornings. What could this mean? Could this be an electrical problem?

I bought tires from Costco about 1 1/2 month ago for my Toyota Corolla. I went to get an oil change today and they said that the tires have nitrogen in them and not air. I have to get the nitrogen refilled each month at Costco only if I want to check my air pressure in my tires.

They added air to the tires for now since the nitrogen was low. Now I can go to Costco and get the air drained and nitrogen added.

The tires are BFGoodrich and mid-range. Has anyone ever heard of nitrogen being put in tires instead of air?

I just drained my 2000 Grand Caravan radiator by turning a plastic plug on the drivers side at the bottom of the radiator. Now I'm attempting to close it by twisting it back on but it seem like it isn't threaded. Is this correct? If not, how do I get it back in? If I hit it with my hammer, as I'm want to do, since it is plastic, it will just break. Please advise.
