If you drive on the highway a lot, I'd stay away from the rubber-encased blades, they have a tendency to lift when driving at higher speeds. Not a big deal when driving in snow as you won't be going too fast, but when getting mist off the wet road from melting snow/ice or if it rains, it becomes a real pain.

I have been selling and installing wiper blades for the last 18years at my shops. I have tried all the brands and I can tell you from mostly my customers that there is no good winter blade. The only blade I would recommend is the Bosch Icon. It is a bracket-less wiper meaning there is no metal parts exposed. Just one solid piece of rubber. It is great for winter use and is also good because it keeps itself down on the window. The only down fall is the price. I get mine from Napa. You will spend around $25 per blade. But if performance is important to you then I can say from experience that they are every bit worth the money. check out this site and read about them. By the way I think that in a couple of years the "Winter" blade will be obsolete.

yes. Annco? sells winter wipers. You can get them at Autozone and at other auto parts stores. The support portions of the blade are encased in rubber so that they don't freeze and become inflexible. I use them on my vehicle starting around the end of daylight savings time, and I don't remove them until DST begins again.

The only come in even number sizes, so if your wipers call for an odd number, just use the next smallest even size, i.e. for a 25" blade, use a 24" winter blade.

I love them. During the recent winter storm we had, I had no problem with my wipers. Once all the ice was removed that is.
