The mileage is less a factor than driving habits and quality of the design of the vehicles braking system. And squeaks do not automatically mean the pads are worn down. Some vehicles squeak with brand new pads and rotors (GM especially) because the calipers are not properly isolated from the body. This condition can be rectified easily with a silicone compound applied to the backs of the pads.
You need to remove the wheels and check both the inside and outside pads (sticking calipers often cause the inside to wear much quicker than the outside) on the front and rear. Check for low material thickness on the pads and uneven wear. If they are thin you will need to replace the pads and if you have a puslation or shudder when braking your will need to replace the rotors as well. Uneven pad wear is an indication of calipers which are not releasing when you let off of the brakes. Fixing this condition requires close inspection of the quide pins and either cleaning or replacing them and lubricating them completely before reassembling the brakes. If you have not done this yourself before either pay to have it done by a competent mechanic or ask for help from someone who has the knowledge and tools to assist you. Please check with your dealer if you are doing it yourself to find out if the manufacturer has any special requirements, tools or techniques to ensure the job is done properly. The lives of you and your loved ones, as well as the rest of us on the road, can rest on your brakes. Best of luck and God bless.

If your brakes are squeaking, then you are probably scoring the rotors, a much more expensive fix than just brake pads. I would suggest that you get your brakes looked at right now and maybe they can mill out any minor scoring that has occurred up to this point. We needed brakes and rotors about a year ago and it cost almost 1,000. If we would have taken it in sooner and just had the brake pads replaced, it would have been less than half that. It's your call.

depends on whether or not youve got bad braking performance. do you drive alot, or just a little bit.do they squeal only early in the morning, or all the time. Sometimes, brake rotors will rust after only a little moisture, on most occasions, overnight.brake pads would probably be the problem, and they are relatively inexpensive to do. the parts usually range from $15 for a cheap set and up. price depends on the vehicle. get a book, do the work yourself (if mechanically inclined.) hope this helped

easily relies upon, on occasion the pads set up a vibration whilst utilized the traditional way. that's the back of the pads rubbing the caliper whilst the pad pass somewhat in vibration. to purpose and do away with it you may desire to attempt utilising a comparatively extra tension on the brakes, however that's counter intuitive to realize this. many people do no longer use the spray for the backs of the pads, to end the squeak, and on some fashions that's needed to apply this spray or you get squeaking

You want cheap reliable brakes? Go to NAPA or AutoZone. I think they have low prices for people who have a budget problem. If you want to just get some brakepads that have a one year warranty on them and put them on your SUV. I've done that in the past and save a few hundred dollars.

That first set of breaks almost always wears for 100k miles. Just take it to a shop for an oil change and have them take a peak. Go to a shop that also does breaks and they'll probably tell you free how much it costs. Sometimes you can do breaks yourself, but sometimes...you need a torch and stuff...

invest in brakes no matter what it takes. would you rather spend maybe $100 for brakes or spend $1000's in repair due to the fact you may rearend someone?
