me $900.00, then flywheel $1000.00, starter
$240.00, three water pumps, catyllytic converter,
$600.00. Now after Driven for about 30 min
tranission slips. Any cheap suggestions. I'm

I have had cars that have had transmissions starting to go out . I had the transmission flushed and new fluid put in. This will extend the life of your tranny. The cost is about $75.00.

With my cars I had this done once a year after the trannies were getting weak. I made it about 2 1/2 years with one car, the other about 4 more years.

Interestingly, I have a 1998 Contour sitting in my garage--had it almost 2 years now and have never even had it started LOL. It was a police impound buy. It was an theft recovery and that is a good rule of thumb when buying an impound car--if it had been stolen --it will run. Well, I have never figured out how to get it to start (factory anti theft device). I wish I could find the auto thief that stole it in the first place--he obviously knew more than I do . LOL

Your tranny is on its way to dying...

1. Keep it cold and take it to a Toyota, Honda or Mazda dealership and trade it in.

2. Have the fluid changed and see if that helps. If you have never done this, it could. If it does help, trade it in (see step 1).

3. Or, take it to a couple ATRA certified shops and get some estimates and opinions. They will test drive it. Do not go to AAMCO or any other transmission STORE.

Check with you state law and see if it is covered under the lemon law.
If you keep having to repair it , it mite be covered under that law. If so you can get all your money back.
