I'm not familiar with Ford Brakes. I just replaced the rear shoes & drums. The adjusting quadrant on both sides was pretty crusted over. They didn't move freely. I was able to free them up and they work fine. Also, the parking brake lever doesn't move - frozen somewhere. The park brake light was on initially but went off after a few seconds. When driving it sounds like the shoes are scraping the drum. I know they're supposed to touch, but should they scrape? Is the adjusting off somehow? I pushed that little curved/toothed tab all the way back when installing drum.

My neightbor gave me one of his old car's, that he hadn't driven in about 3-4months, its a toyota camry 1990, has a little over 140,000 miles on it, and its kinda rusty, its going to need minimal brake work, and for my first car, its perfect, no need to worry about putting the best gas, or having the best insurense, but what i dont know is, if its worth it, hes giving it to me for free, so im not going to complain, but does anyone have any tips for the rust, without making it pricy, and what do you think about the deal, is it worth it, it looks pretty shitty on the outside, but the inside's perfect, so please any advice, or opinons keep um coming, i dont know what to do

I'm not sure why this is happening, but it's the same sounds as the car makes when you first start it. I just had the car serviced and it's leaking oil pretty badly now. Anyway, I'm wondering if the sounds it's making is related to a low oil warning or what it could mean?

My t-bird used to run good every once and a while. But now more often it starts and idles rough and when I push the gas pedal it has no power, top speed of 10-20 mph. It just bogs down and sputters. The check engine light is on and goes off and on at random. It has done this for a number of years and the Ford dealership had no answers. No codes in the box either. Any help would be great.

my ignition will not turn it is stuck in lock position. i have already experienced the key getting stuck and not releasing, that was a transmission relay. its been fixed this is not the same deal. this time the ignition just will not turn and the steering wheel is locked as well as the igniton. i need to start the car. what do i do for a temporary fix? without hot wiring? i thought about crossing the starter to get it to start. if i do this will the steering wheel unlock? or will i be stuck with a running car that wont move? also i am not sure where the starter is if it will work.

Iwanted to buy a new car, but i noticed the new model had rearwheel discbrakes. Having had a bad experience with this type of brake on a previous car i wonder if it really makes sense to choose a car with this kind of brakes.

I need the reflector panel that attaches to the trunk lid. This is the plastic reflector part that has the word "CONCORDE" emblazed on it. I'm sorry but I do not know the technical name for it. It situates between the tail lights when the trunk is closed and raises with the trunk lid. It connects with six plastic nuts from the inside of the trunk lid.

About 6 months ago, or even less than that, I got my rear brakes completely replaced ( because the brake lines were leaking my brake fluid ). Anyway, so now that they have been fixed, they have started to screech really badly and grind a lot. I don't know if it is just the break pads? Please tell me I don't have to get my brakes totally replaced AGAIN!!

I am about to get this 1997 Chevy Cheyenne 4wd 3/4 ton 5.7 liter (350 cu) for a decent price. Got approved today. I will be doing no pulling or pushing and not using 4wd except only in winter, If needed. Will drive between 45-50 mph most of time. At 57 mph, the tachometer said 1500=1600 rpms, which is better the my 92 3.1 v 6 multiport it does about 2200-2300 rpm at that speed. Ive heard anywhere to expect 12-15 mph up to 21=24 mph. Can anyone give me a better idea? Dont wanna buy it and find out its gonna break me in gas... too late by then... Im talking ALL facts into consideration before I buy. Tomorrow I am goin to lot and crawling under truck to inspect for leaks and CVC joints and boots, ect. Thanks

Obviously the band will need to be fixed on the transmission. I have a 1991 Ford Aerostar that may posess this problem. Is this an easy fix...I dont know. Any ideas of what this could run me financially? Should I trust my boyfriend to fix it (he's fairly good at mechanics) or is this a major complicated "take it to the experts" problem?

The oil ight comes on intermittenly on my Volvo S80 and I get an electronic message that says "no oil pressure. Stop ASAP". Needless to say I stopped and checked the oil. I have plently (It's at oreven maybe a little above the top line on the dipstick). When I restart it goes away and will occaisionally return when the car is idling in gear on the road.

Is this just a phantom? Or a problem with the electrical syatem? Or fo I really have a problem?
