My t-bird used to run good every once and a while. But now more often it starts and idles rough and when I push the gas pedal it has no power, top speed of 10-20 mph. It just bogs down and sputters. The check engine light is on and goes off and on at random. It has done this for a number of years and the Ford dealership had no answers. No codes in the box either. Any help would be great.

The engine is the Super Charged 3.8 V-6 with Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection and is Inter-Cooled. Just in case this helps.

This may help narrow things down too, it started to do this and I parked it for a while. Came back after a few months and it ran fine and drove it about 5 miles or so and it went back to the same problem. It has sat ever since. Just now getting time and money to try and fix it. Thought I would get help narrowing down the problem, hopefully. Thanks for your ideas.

What engine? Sounds like it has jumped time. Sounds like a 2.3 that jumped time...before that, though...the MAP sensor. No codes, though...still sounds like it's jumped a tooth out of time. Good luck.

check the catalic converter,it could be plugged up.1 way to find out,is take out your plugs, and if they are black, then its probably the cat.
