i never heard of that. but the tires should all be balanced at the same time to ensure proper handling of the car.

it cannot bend the frame. You should always have the same size tires on all four wheels. There is no problem replacing 2 at a time if the remaining two have good tread.

NO you cant bend the frame...but you can sure break your transfer case. also it will drive weird...shakes and such in 4x4. also it will be hard to engage/disengage your transfer case. but remember just because the sizes are different doesn't mean they aren't the same height....tire height has to be the same on a 4x4....width does not (but it would look weird). U joints would not appreciate the different tire size either. your limit slip rear end won't like it either....and most of all the tires wont like it the will wear quickly. Basically i would not want to be responsible either if the tires werent the same size.

i am constantly amazed by what people accept from mechanics and parts dealers. it is literally impossible for 2 new tires and 2 old tires to bend a frame. as long as you run the same size HEIGHTH tires on the same axle, width doesnt matter,as long as there is room for tires not to rub on body or frame or brake parts. if different heighth tires are run on an axle with a differential gear, damage to the gears can happen . for example, you can run 235-75-r15 tires on the rear and 225-70-r15 tires on the front with absolutely no damage to anything to car. ride may be a bit uncomfortable, may be, but car will be fine

The reasons for the tire sizes needing to be the same is that in four wheel drive all four wheels must turn at the same speed and smaller tires will make more revolutions than larger tires resulting in driveline windup just like if you used four wheel drive on dry tar and damaging the axle.

I don't know about bending the frame????, but it will destroy your transfer case. Even if the tires are the same make and size, if you have two that are worn bad ( more than half way) and two new ones, you can cause damage.

Nope, not possible. The tires will give before the frame would twist in this situation. It would only twist the frame if you were of roading to hard or and had an accident .

I have never heard of this. But you do need to make sure that you have the same size tires on each axle. You can buy one new to replace a bad tire as long as its the same size as the other one on that axle
