I have a '95 Ford Taurus. It was running perfectly fine about three hours before... and I went to start the car... I give it gas, like normal... go to break to take it out of park and it dies. I can keep my foot on the gas and it will stay running, but as soon as I let up, it dies.
What could this possibly be? And, approximately how much will it cost to fix?

a couple of months ago i blew out the motor my dad says that it was a sensor in the transmission that's going out. i like to mess with cars and can honestly say that i know my transmission wasn't going out cause i could make it hit 120 if i had to so can anyone tell me if the transmission is computerized or if a sensor had anything to do with it. what my car would do before the motor went out was i would be driving at about 50 miles per hour and all on its own it would aaccelerate and just sounded forced i would turn it of or if it did it more than once i would park it for a day and then it would work for another couple of months if you can tell me what is really wrong i would appreciate it i'm fixin to put three hundred on a motor and i want to know if it will be worth it?

I just bought an 06 Yamaha Rhino 660 last thursday. I took it out to the desert on Saturday to break it in and by the end of the day the reverse light started lighting up while being in drive (h)

It would also feel like it was slowing down or trying to shift into Reverse when the reverse light lit up. Every time it lit up I would have to slow down & it would go away....only to light up again after a few minutes.

Anyone have this problem?

Sorry to bother you,
I have just come back from renting a video out, which is 10 min drive and on my return journey car felt weird from the right hand side and i felt i was applying more pressure on gas pedal. Couple of months back i put some steering fluid in. I don`t know what to do as i am a girl of 21. My car is a astra 1.6LS petrol, and registered 2001 X registration. I bought the car in july; mot not due until december so i was thinking of getting the car serviced at the same time. Do you think it would be wiser if i put it in for a service tomorrow morning? If i can at such short notice. Atleast they can top fluid levels etc. I have been driving for three years and other 2 cars both let me down. Your advice will be appreciated.

xx

I can't find it in a dictionary. Are synchromesh gears still made out of the stuff? It is (was?) a composite material designed to pulverize when worn out or faulty instead of breaking-up and ruining the rest of a transmission.

HI,

I'm having problems starting my car in the morning.
I've changed the glow plugs, fuel filter and the air filter but this has not worked.

I have been told it may be the relay switch for the glow plug controller but no one seems to know where it is located.

I've been given 3 different places that it could be and one of them is behind the dash board.

It is in the garage in the morning and they say they will have to locate it which could take 2-3+ hours. If i know where it is it could save me £40 per hour!!!!

PLEASE HELP..... Has anyone had this problem before or does anyone know where it is located so i can tell the garage.

It is a Cavalier 1.7 turbo diesel (Isuzu engine)

ANY info would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks in advance.

NOrmally the doors will lock after you have the vehicle in Drive and you are going down the road. Now the Explorer is locking the door repeatedly, over and over with the door ajar tone sometimes sounding while driving. I have checked the fuses but not sure where else I sould continue my pursuit of this annoying problem. Your Ideas?

My Van started stalling out a couple weeks ago It will start and then stall before in gear but will start after 3 or 4 trys, we took it to the shop the did a tune up and charged us 220.00 now its stalling worse, we took it back to the garage they said it need the tune up they changed the sparkplugs, a new air filter and fuel filter, when we took it back the guy said that its from the cold weather and his car does the same thing, I dont believe that, a little wile ago we had to put coolant in the van because the light came on but thats all.

At the time all the bidders were told it needed a new ignition switch. True, it did. That has since been fixed. The problem now is that although it starts, runs great (by the way this van is loaded with everything) it drives in reverse only!! My boyfriend says he doesnt believe its transmission problems although he put trans x in it with no results, he now plans on changing the transmission filter. He thinks this may do the trick. Well....before I go and spend $ on "just trying things out," I'd really like some opinions from those of you who have had the same or similar experience. What did you do or try....what was the problem? I really rather not find out that my $250.00 "deal"..... really is too good to be true. Thanks for your time.

I drive a 1999 Toyota Tacoma with ~ 45,000 miles, mostly in great shape (low miles). I just had it through the garage twice (once for oil / transmission fluid change and once for a check engine light that turned out to be air sensors). But there are two nagging issue that the mechanics have yet to identify:

When I'm at a full stop, foot resting on the brake, the brakes will let go and the car will roll forward if the radiator fan comes on or anything else begins drawing enough electricity. It seems the car doesn't have enough power to go around.

(The only other problem with the truck is that the gas pedal is a bit sticky when you try to press it sometimes. This isn't a big deal, but I'm not sure if that could be somehow related.)

Any idea how I could fix this problem? Is it possible a new battery or cleaning my batter connections may help? Thanks for your help!
