I have a 92 honda civic and sometimes when i press the gas too much all the engine does is rev up and won't acclerate. The shifting is also kinda stiff sometimes, especially when the A/C is on.

The transmission is slipping. Check the fluid level and make sure the proper fluid is being used And is at the full mark.. It should tell you on the dip stick what kind of transmission fluid to use and the instructions for checking it. If it's not low then take it to a shop. Like the others said.Your transmission is going bad

Your rpms should go up when you increase the gas. If your speed response is sluggish then I would suspect a transmission problem. Or maybe your belt is just slipping.
