a couple of months ago i blew out the motor my dad says that it was a sensor in the transmission that's going out. i like to mess with cars and can honestly say that i know my transmission wasn't going out cause i could make it hit 120 if i had to so can anyone tell me if the transmission is computerized or if a sensor had anything to do with it. what my car would do before the motor went out was i would be driving at about 50 miles per hour and all on its own it would aaccelerate and just sounded forced i would turn it of or if it did it more than once i would park it for a day and then it would work for another couple of months if you can tell me what is really wrong i would appreciate it i'm fixin to put three hundred on a motor and i want to know if it will be worth it?

i own a repair shop,,and it does have a shift solenoid in it that helps control it ,but its not actually controlled by the computer the computer senses the speed of the transmission but it doesn't control it ,its probably ok in it ,i would worry about it,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Could have been several things. Maybe vaccum lines. Maybe clogged catalytic converter. Possibly a bad maf sensor. Hard to tell. You might want to read the codes from the computer and that may point you in a good direction. Good luck.
