I took my car there to get an oil change and they did not replace my oil cap properly. The cap fell off on the highway and I had to get the car towed. the engine is destroyed and my mechanic says it is jiffy lube's fault. I brought this to jiffy lubes attention and they say it is not their fault. I told them what the mechanic told me and now they are looking into it. has anyone else experienced this problem with jiffy lube? what was the outcome?

I have a 1995 325ic BMW...
I bought this car used and I have a feeling that the previous owner did not take care of the car very well. Also, I bought this car in Hawaii and it has been there since 1995. I now live in cold Seattle and now I feel like the car is acting a little funny due to the drastic climate change. The doors squeak (I did put WD-40) and sometimes the doors won't open from the outside (it gets stuck for some reason). Any suggestions or anything else that I can do (without taking it to a shop) to make the car run and perform better? Thanks.

I just part-exed a Toyota Yaris SR 1.3 for a new Yaris T3 VVTi 1.3. The salesman called me today telling me that the parcel shelf and locking wheel nuts were missing. I knew about the parcel shelf but not the wheel nuts, but in both cases I'd never had either since purchase. For peace of mind, is it not the case that a franchised dealer can replace locking wheel nuts with an identifier code that comes with the car and is kept on record somewhere? Or does it entail throwing the wheels out altogether? Also, I assume that now the car has been part-exed I am not liable in any way for anything not present in the car. Am I right?

1998 Saturn SL2, automatic, 97,000 miles and unsure if ANYTHING of this sort has been done.

I'm a little concerned as what the better choice would be as I don't want to do anything that would 'hurt' the car (aka ruin the transmission).

Advice?

PS - I saw something before about a fuel line/filter flush as well. Comments on that would be appreciated.

Thanks!

My service engine light in an 01 grand am has been coming on and off for the past 2 weeks. The dealership said that a fuel cylinder misfired both times. They also said it was the same cylinder that misfired. I can tell when it misfires, my car feels like it is going to die when I stop and it doesn't accelerate uphill well. What would be causing the fuel cylinder to misfire? I have an appointment tomorrow to get it fixed, but I don't want to get ripped off and the problem not be fixed.

My car is a 2003 Mazda 6(V6 manual trans). Last weekend, I couldn't start my car (dead battery). So I popped my clutch in gear while the car was rolling to get it to start. The next morning, I went to start my car (it started, but it was hard), and drove to autozone to get a battery.

On the way, my CEL came on flashing, the car was stalling at lights, and a very prevalent tick developed, thats frequency increases with RPM. When I got to autozone (less than a mile away), I changed the battery, checked the oil (was about 1/2 a quart low, so I added it). It was still stalling and ticking, but no check engine light anymore. So I added some Chevron fuel sys.cleaner.

Got it back, disconnected my battery for 24 hours, and started it again. The stalling issue was gone, but the ticking still remains. I haven't started the car in a few days since its at home. A week before this I also had 2 CEL's, one for a misfire and one for a bad cat or downstream O2 sensor. Any thoughts?

I am looking to buy a new car! I have had two Freelanders, both of which have given me grief! the 1st one on a S reg I blew the Head on at 65000 miles! I had it repaired & sold it. I bought a newer one on a 02 plate & the head has just gone on that one too, at just over 27000 miles! It's now in the garage waiting to be done (under warrenty) ! I'm sick of being brain washed by the "sales man" who treats me like the typical "little woman" so I thought I'd ask the real people out there. Should I go for another Freelander? or up-grade to a Discovery?

I checked the fuse box and can't find any blown fuses. The fuse box is labeled but I don't see anything indicating a fuse for the diver’s seat. Am I looking in the right place? The passenger’s seat is fine but I can’t drive my truck from there.

Hi, I have a convertible and now that it's started raining it is very damp and uncomfortable in my car (like being in a tent). I don't have a garage, but I was told that large desiccant packs are sold for this purpose. Does anyone know where I could find this product in Vancouver?
Thanks
