You basically have to remove the entire upper portion of the engine. This is a very complex job, and best to pay a mechanic. You can do it yourself, but you'll need a lot of tools, and you'll be staying greasy and busting knuckles for 2 days tearing the engine down.

Since you are asking, I am going to assume that you have never done heads on a car before. I would recommend that you not do it as most likely you don't have the required know how or tools. One thing done incorrectly and you will be starting over. Take it to someone that knows what they are doing.
I am not saying this to be mean, just watching out.

Depending on which engine you have, It may require removal of the distributor, so if you're not sure how to put it back in, don't try this job at home. Let a professional do it.
