Did you try pulling up on the "Emergency Brake Release" by your left knee? If that doesn't work, look under the dash, by your left knee, and check the linkage from the pedal going to the brakes. Check the release handle and try to find out how or why it is jammed and won't release. There is a ratchet typ linkage that slips into a notche to hold the emergency brake pedal down. Make sure the release handle is pulling this "catch" up so the pedal can come back up. Also, while pulling on the release, reach down and pull up on the emergency brake pedal.

There is a possibility that you have jammed the pedal down so hard that it is in a bind with the release linkage. When it is jammed down very hard, it will be hard to pull the release handle.

I think, IF you will just take time and look at the linkage, you will find the problem. Good luck. Pops

well without more info. this could be tough , first slack off the cables under the car , does the park brake pedal stay down ? if so spray with penetrating oil and beat on the side of it , if the pedal comes up but the drums are locked you can get to the adjusters through the back and back them off and hit the drums to shock the shoes loose, good luck !!!

Don't you push those all the way to the floor (hard) and they release? Owners manual?
