1) Be certain that the security for the radio is disabled. Disconnect the Neg. battery terminal (grounding side)
2) Release the alternator adjustment retaining bolt, and loosen the lower anchor/pivot bolt.
3) Pry the alternator inward enough to slide the belt over the pulley.
4) Unplug the small wire plug in the rear/side of the unit.
5) Remove the retaining nut from the charge wire at the rear of alternator.
6) Remove the two previously loosened bolts,
7) It may be necessary to remove or reposition braces and brackets for final removal, so pay attention to what came from where.
8) Reassembly is to reverse order of these steps, and after placing the belt back over the pulley, use a pry-bar, large screwdriver, or jack handle to pry the alternator out into the belt and secure the adjustment retaining bolt when the belt has deflection of about 3/4" across the top.
9) Before reconnecting the battery, check ALL bolts and connections for security and proper fit and connection.
10) Reconnect the battery, start, and check charging voltage.
11) Re-program the presets in the radio.

Ok i dont know about this engine model but they are all basically the same. Normally you have two bolts on for adjust ment and the other for mounting.

1st dissconnect the batteries at the negative post.

2nd disconnect the wires take in mind to mark where the wires went by marking it on the alternator your taking off.

3rd loosen up the adjust ment bolt which is normally the higher of the two.

4th push the alternator tward the engine and romove the belt off the alternator pully.

5th remove the mounting bolt/bolts

6th pull the alternator out.

Installation is exactly the opposite of removal fallow steps 6 through one backwards.

the bat arced because it isn’t smart to attach the pos cable last. you will get a arc every time. connect the neg (black) cable last and no arc. take it to sears and get a free test. they will test the bat, alt and starter. if you have a drain on the system it will tell you. if your bat needs charged that will take the longest but is also free (45min to charge). if your bat is charged and your alt is running well than you will see 13.5ish volts. the alt will kill your power when you are driving because it wont recharge the bat. it is cheap and quick to replace the alt if it is bad. if it is bad than it will kill a new bat. better get them checked and fix it quick. it is cheaper than having your car die at a light when you are going to work/school. getting your car toed is like $50. getting the battery replaced is like $100. new alt replaced at least $100. total at least 4hours and $250+. getting it all tested and replace it your self 3hours(on your own time) and maybe $60 or less. even cheaper if you get it at a salvage yard. maybe 3hours and $20. good luck and i hope you get it fixed before you get stuck. it can be all done with the same $10 socket set you used to take the cable ends off with. good luck and dont be that person with the stalled car on the freeway getting death threats.
