My 1999 Chevy metro, with about 60K miles on it, makes an odd noise when i make very sharp turns to the left at low speeds, and if i turn the wheels while parked. Almost sounds like a mummy moaning. :)

I've dug around and i see CV joints and ball joints are a common reason for this type of noise.

Does that still sound like a CV joint, Ball Joint or could it be something else?

I'm kinda freaking out here. I just replaced the engine due to cylander failure ( 3 seperate mechanices agreed it was the best course) and the exhaust( cuz i hit a large unmarked pothole).
Now this messed up noise has me regreting my choice to fix my car.

I see both Ball Joints ad CV Joints for pretty cheap at online autoparts stores, and here it takes a few hundred with labor at most, but I also see HORROR stories of it costing THOUSANDS!

Arm Me with knowledge before i go to the mechanic, please.

i've called the car dealership and they want me to have the truck towed to the dealership and then they'll program another key. but that seems ridiculous, so there has to be another way to do that. i'm in houston, if that helps any.

i have warped crossed drilled rotors i need to cut. who can cut these rotors? ive had them for a month and they got warped. whats up with that?

i have a 03' chevy impala v6, it will start fine in the morning i will drive it a bit then it will die and will not restart for sometime after 30 min. to 2 hours will restart what can it be. a friend of mine thinks the fuel pump but wanted another opinion before i take it to the shop and have them check so i know what to expect in price.

Anyone had any experience with making the braking better on this truck
It's a weak spot with Dodge that Im tired of living with
Im living in the City now and really notice how poor they are
I didn't use the truck much before moving here so i just lived with the braking.
Im capable of repairing my self.
Wanted some info on trouble shooting from those who had tackled this before i dove in.
Read a post on the proportioning valve causing some issues.
Any info?

where can i get replacement ball joints for my 1969 dodge charger? while it was at the shop the found i needed new ball joints and said they could do it and would cost around $700-1000! that is complete BS.

I have a Rover 214si (1999) and when I accelerate over 20-30 mph I can hear a sort of rustling noise coming from under my bonnet. It happens when I rev to about 2.5 + revs at the speeds I mentioned. Any ideas of what this could be? The car is in decent working order and it's only recently started.

Yesterday I was parking and my front bumper barely hit a car on the side (near the back door). There's only one tiny scratch (about 1/4-1/2-inch) that is semi-deep, with a few more white scrapes. How much would this cost around to be repaired? I think he had bigger scratches there from before, so he might make me pay for those too, but I am hoping to negotiate.

I have a 1996 Ford Escort and it wont go into gear very easly. When i start the car in nutrual it wont go into any of the gears. But when i start it in first, it will start to move. The thing is the clutch is all the way to the floor and the car is moving like I am really driving it. After that i try to shift into the other gears and it is very difficult. I have to jam it, sometimes it wont even go into any gear. Can someone please help me.

I have a 95 F-150 with a 302 that is shot.........can I replace the motor with a 351? will it bolt up to the a40d transmission? The 351 has a 302 computer in it and a 302 intake on it already.

No record of car accident on carfax, but found out was wrecked and fixed when bought from dealer. Dealer did not disclose previous damage to me. Now value is much lower after being appraised. They said dealer would have known. Is this fraud?
