I have a Rover 214si (1999) and when I accelerate over 20-30 mph I can hear a sort of rustling noise coming from under my bonnet. It happens when I rev to about 2.5 + revs at the speeds I mentioned. Any ideas of what this could be? The car is in decent working order and it's only recently started.

I can give a lot of guesses, but you should have someone check it out in person. I had something similar happen. A door wasn't closing properly on the camper shell. Unless it is obvious, you'll have to have someone check it out in person.

Have the engine block checked. One time that happened to my car and it was the engine block rattling. It just needed to be tighted a bit. Have an auto mechanic check it out. Better now than later when it could get worse.
