I've fixed a leak from a hose and the brakes are not worn down. But the light still stays on. How can I get it off?

that is so weird!!!!! I have a 1993 toyota corrolla and i have the same problem does the car shake at all when your going 40 or 50 and then you put on your brakes to stop? if so then you need the brake rotors changed or turned check the callipers too and my e- brake doesn't really help me to stop it is easy to pull up.if that does not work then check the fuses. my dad is a mechanic and he said those were the only other options... hope this helps.

Check and make sure your emergency brake is not slightly on,Take a flash light and look in the console where the E brake handle it and make sure nothing is lodges between the E brake handle and the switch for the the light that comes on when you apply the E brake.
If its not that. See if wiggling the wire that's attached to your master cylinder works.
And yes! Like the other guy said, Make sure your brake system is bled properly!

I would assume, since you fixed the leak, that you had also bled the brake system. Also, doing that would reset the proportioning valve, which in turn allows that light to turn off. Bleed the brakes if you haven't done so. Good luck.

It is probably the fluid senser on the brake master cylinder or posibbly an ABS speed senser on the hubs. If you are not having braking problem simply unplug the light from the back of your gauge cluster

follow your brake pedal up under the dash, you will see a switch , that is the brake light switch, when those go out it allows the light to stay on,, somewtimes they just get stuck,, they are activated when you push down on the brake pedal

ok first of all, not many ppl know anything about cars. Im 15 and know more than everyone on this page. Neways, it can be many things, but you should never i repeat never take it to autozone. (CROOKS) plus everything cost to much. Its either the antilock sensors or the electical, or someone just went and put the wrong bulb or put it in wrong.
